  produce damaging wind gusts and large hail and an Enhanced Risk
  (level 3 out of 5) for locations just north of Alexandria and a
  Slight (level 2 out of 5) to Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5)
  of severe storms during that time frame for the remainder of the
  area.

- Potential for Gale force winds over the coastal waters late
  Sunday night into Monday.

- Elevated potential for fire danger on Monday due to strong north winds
  and low afternoon relative humidity values depending on how
  much rain falls on Sunday night.

- There is the potential for a light freeze and frost for Monday night
  into Tuesday morning for mainly portions north of the I-10
  corridor.

A slow but steady warming and moistening trend continues as we head
into the weekend, with onshore flow now well established at the
surface. Even so, today will still bring fairly seasonal weather,
with highs reaching into the mid to upper 70s this afternoon amid
sunny skies.

Overnight into tomorrow, a mid/upper level shortwave trough dives
out of Canada, across the Northern Rockies, and into the Central
Plains. A the same time, a deepening surface low and associated
frontal system will take a similar path, becoming established across
the mid-MS River Valley/Central Plains by tomorrow morning. The
pressure gradient overhead will begin to tighten as this storm
system deepens to our north, allowing surface winds to become strong
and gusty through tomorrow afternoon. As a result, dewpoints surge
into the mid 60s tomorrow afternoon, while highs reach into the
lower 80s.

The cold front will quickly sweep south across the center of the
country tomorrow, reaching the forecast area around the evening
hours and moving across quickly from there. Ahead of the front,
decent instability and shear will be present, leading to a chance
for strong to severe storms. At the time of this writing the SPC
outlook has not changed since the previous forecast package, but a
new outlook is set to arrive shortly. For now, the northern most
parts of Rapides and Avoyelles Parishes are in an Enhanced Risk
(level 3 of 5), areas mainly north of I-10 are included in the
Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) and the remaining regions are in the
Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5), with damaging winds expected to be
the overall primary threat.

Outside of the severe parameters, flooding rain is not expected to
be a concern. While moisture will be pooling overhead Sunday, PWATs
are only expected to reach just above the 75th percentile by the
time the front arrives. In addition, minimal pre-frontal convection
is expected with th best rainfall rates expected to set up right
along the boundary which will sweep through quickly, keeping any
flooding risk in check.

The threat for severe weather will come to an end around the
midnight hour Mon (give or take an hour or two). A tight pressure
gradient behind the front will shift winds to the north and cause
them to become very strong and gusty with a Wind Advisory likely
being required. Strong cold air advection then begins as we head
towards sunrise Monday, with temperatures falling into the upper 30s
to low 40s and only warming into the low to mid 50s by Monday
afternoon.

Finally by Monday night surface high pressure settles overhead,
allowing winds to become calm and skies to clear. This will bring
about the coldest temperatures of the forecast period, with sub-
freezing temps expected for CENLA and mid to upper 30s elsewhere.
The remainder of the forecast period brings another slow and steady
warming trend, with temperatures rebounding back into the 80s by
Friday. While moisture will slowly return as well we won't see
another chance of rain until beyond the end of this forecast
period.
