EVENING...

* WHAT...High wave action, strong currents, and dangerous 
  swimming conditions expected. Piers may be heavily swamped by 
  waves.

* WHERE...Ottawa county.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water 
  and high waves can sweep people off piers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Waves and currents near the south side of 
  south piers will be particularly dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions
and do not venture out on piers. Please check with your local
authorities on potential beach closures.

- Showers and Storms Today into Tonight

Forecast remains on track as a rather shallow, clipper type system
will swing through the region today and tonight. PWATS are around
1 to 1.5 inches with mid level lapse rates peaking around 6 to 7
C/km. Scattered showers are expected his morning into this
afternoon. The best chance for storms will be late today with the
arrival of a LLJ. Current track brings it closer to the I 94
corridor late today into this evening. While dynamics should be
enough to produce storms, the lack of instability due to earlier
showers will limit storm production and longevity.
 The clipper and associated fronts will move southward late
tonight into Thursday.

- Fair weather with Warmer than normal temperatures ahead

Predominate zonal flow will continue through the weekend with the
best moisture through IN with high pressure keeping the MI dry.
The pattern will shift next week as high pressure builds over the
eastern half of the US. This will allow 850 temps in the mid 20s
through Lower MI. Due to that temp advection, lower MI Max temps
could reach 90s. Couple that with dewpoints potentially into the
70s and heat indices early next week have a chance to reach into
the 100s.

VFR will continue overnight with showers moving of the region mid
to late morning. As a warm front moves near there will be a
chance for MVFR and lower at MKG/GRR and LAN after 14Z. Chance for
showers with restrictions at all airports this afternoon with
thunder possible this evening, especially at the southern
airports, mainly between 23Z and 05Z.

Wind remain fairly light towards morning. However, there remains
a chance for a sunrise surprise with winds out of the southeast
out ahead of the front. There remains the chance for higher waves
over the northern nearshore zones. Could see a small craft
advisory Wednesday afternoon for the northern 2-3 zones.
Showers are likely along the lakeshore today with storms possible
late this afternoon into the evening.
