.KEY MESSAGES...

  - Scattered to numerous showers and storms will return on
    Thursday, again bringing the risk for locally heavy rainfall.

  - Diurnally-enhanced storm chances will continue each day into
    the weekend, with threats for heavy rain and gusty winds.

  - Afternoon highs will remain within a degree or two of seasonal
    norms (mid-80s to lower 90s) through the start of the weekend.

Deja Vu! Scattered showers and thunderstorms once again expected
this afternoon. The upper/mid level trough continues to weaken over
the next two days, allowing the subtropical ridge to the east to
regress over the area. Diurnally driven thunderstorms will become
slightly more disorganized and with less coverage, though impacts
will likely be similar to the past few days.

With the building ridge from the east, sfc flow generally out of the
south, and decreasing storm coverage, temps will slowly trend up
over the coming days. Highs will reach into the low to mid 90. Heat
index values each days will generally be around 100 to 105, except
for the lucky few in the north mountains where values will be in the
90s.

(Friday night through Wednesday)

Typical summertime pattern with SSW flow that will slowly but surely
push temperatures back up into the low to mid 90s will for the rest
of the forecast period; with triple digit heat index values
returning this weekend. Conditions are expected to flirt with heat
advisory criteria at the beginning of next work week. Especially the
SE part of the CWA.

Fortunately, afternoon thunderstorms will be expected each afternoon
which may help ease temperatures during peak heating. There is
pretty good agreement that afternoon convection will form everyday
for the foreseeable future. The pattern does look to change late
next week and into next weekend when a strong ridge sets up. The GFS
and the CPC are hinting that a strong ridge could build some
dangerously high temperatures into the area.

fall again tngt with patchy fg after 9z.

afternoon through the weekend. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty
winds will be primary storm threats.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of Warren, northeastern
Hancock and southeastern Taliaferro Counties through 100 PM EDT...

At 1233 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Powelton, or 10 miles
northeast of Sparta, moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
         ground lightning.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
         light, unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Warrenton, Norwood, Camak, Cadley, Powelton, Barnett, Mesena, and
Mayfield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
