.KEY MESSAGES...

	- Isolated areas of patchy fog may reduce visibility below
      1/2 a mile this morning. Improvements expected by 10am.

    - Daily chances for scattered rainfall and spring-like warmth
      will continue most days through the weekend. Chances will be
      at a minimum on Thursday.

	- A front on Sunday will bring widespread rainfall, though
      minimal thunderstorm activity is expected at this time.

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Thursday)

Current radar loop showing showers and isolated thunderstorms moving
northward under the Bermuda ridge thats been dominating the pattern
for a few days now. This ridge centered just off the Carolina/GA
coast is keeping warm moist south to southwesterly flow across the
state. Thus, warming temperatures and daily isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms will be the story for the short-term.
Areas that receive any rainfall today, will be subject to an
increased chance for low clouds and fog Thu morning. Thursday will
bring similar weather but chances for any afternoon showers or
storms will be at a minimum (~10-15% chance).

Unseasonably warm temperatures can be expected through the short
term. Highs mainly in the lower to middle 80s with lows in the lower
60s.&&

.LONG TERM...
(Friday morning through next Tuesday)

As we close out the work week, temperatures will surge as the flow
out ahead of the next front turns to the south east. Daytime highs
on Friday and Saturday will rise into the low to mid 80s across the
CWA with dewpoints in the low to mid 60s. This is anywhere from 10-
15 degrees above what we'd expect to see this time of year. This
summer like pattern will continue to fuel afternoon convection, with
isolated to scattered thunderstorms forming after 1pm.

A cold front on Saturday night and into Sunday morning will sweep
through and bring conditions more in line with what we'd expect to
see in April. Given the fronts timing and lack of upper level
dynamics we aren't expecting much in the way of severe weather. That
being said, a few storms are possible that could have some gusty
winds and frequent lightning. Models are continuing to back down on
expected rainfall totals, but as of right now we're looking at the
potential for 0.5-1.5" across the CWA with isolated higher amounts
possible. This is unlikely to break our drought conditions, but
anything is better than nothing at this point.

After the front moves through, dry conditions will set up for the
beginning of next work week. Temps will fall back into the 60s and
70s and it will feel less humid. We may have some fire weather
concerns, but otherwise we're expecting a calm pattern that will
stick around until the end of the forecast period. &&

Mostly VFR ceilings through this TAF periods with pops up showers
and thunderstorms expected this afternoon/evening and again Thu.
Better chances today than Thu but you still cant rule them out.
Winds will stay out of the S to SW in he 5-10kt range. Will see
some higher gust to 25kt in and around any convection. Will also
see some brief periods of MVFR ceilings and VSBYs in or near any
storms.

this afternoon and evening with a risk for a few lightning
strikes and brief heavy rainfall.

Thursday through Sunday will bring daily chances for isolated to
scattered showers and thunderstorms. Widespread severe weather is
not expected at this time.

At 354 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Richland, or near
Preston, moving northeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
         ground lightning.

         light, unsecured objects.
