then chances for rain enters Sunday with a period of dry weather to
return for the start of the new work week.

KEY MESSAGE 1...Gradual warming and dry weather will persist through
Saturday, then chances for rain enters Sunday with a period of dry
weather to return for the start of the new work week.

Coastal low pressure maturing off the New England coast today and
into the weekend will result in surface high pressure centered over
eastern Canada to continue to settle south across the region
tonight, before pushing westward across the central Great Lakes by
Saturday. Overall this will promote fair weather into the start of
the weekend.

The aforementioned coastal low will progress towards Cape Cod
Saturday night, which will support its cloud shield to spread
westward across the region. This low will jut westward toward New
Jersey Sunday while weakening, which will cause the precipitation
shield to spread westward across the eastern portions of the
forecast area, mainly impacting areas east of the Genesee Valley.
However, the westward trend of the coastal low's track may introduce
a few light rain showers to filter further west across Western New
York Sunday.

Surface high pressure will return to the eastern Great Lakes and
Ohio Valley early next week, supporting dry weather to return.

.AVIATION /18Z FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
VFR conditions prevail across the region this afternoon as surface
high pressure is settling southward across western and north central
New York.

Clear skies, light winds and efficient nocturnal cooling similar to
the previous night should yield localized river valley fog from 06z
through 13z Friday, which will produce local IFR/LIFR conditions.
Winds increasing sufficiently with height in the surface to 2kft AGL
layer and resulting mechanical mixing should cause the fog to be
shallow and prevent the fog from impacting KJHW.

Outlook...

Saturday...Dry weather and mainly VFR expected.

Saturday night through Sunday...Mainly VFR. A chance of showers and
MVFR across Central NY at times.

Monday through Wednesday...Mainly dry weather and VFR expected.

.MARINE...
East-northeast winds this afternoon will gradually back more to the
north-northeast through this evening in response to a developing low
off the eastern seaboard. Choppy conditions will continue on both
lakes. Northerly flow may increase further by Saturday, with the
potential for low end Small Craft Advisory conditions in the
nearshore zones east of Rochester. Elevated winds and waves will
continue through at least Sunday as the coastal low meanders near
the New England coast.
