Flood Watch has expired. && .KEY MESSAGES... 1) Unsettled weather moves back into the region Wednesday through the end of the week. && .DISCUSSION... Key Message 1...Unsettled weather moves back into the region Wednesday through the end of the week. The chance for showers and thunderstorms return Wednesday through Friday. An upper level trough will move into the Northern Plains/Great Lakes region and a return flow will bring moisture northward. The synoptic pattern suggests deep southwesterly flow will persist during this time. While confidence is low regarding timing and intensity of showers and thunderstorms, chances are higher in the afternoon to evening. && .AVIATION /06Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... Showers and isolated thunderstorms continue overnight with MVFR/IFR conditions. With recent rainfall and overall moist low- levels, expecting IFR/LIFR ceilings to develop for most western NY terminals overnight. Lingering showers will continue into Monday morning near KART as the low pressure system continues to slowly track eastward. As conditions begin to clear up through Monday morning with drier air gradually replacing this moist airmass, gusty northwest winds are expected in the afternoon, especially for terminals in close proximity to Lake Ontario like KROC and KART. Outlook... Monday night through Tuesday...VFR. Wednesday through Friday...Mainly VFR, however afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms will pose a risk for MVFR or below conditions at times. && .MARINE... A wavy cold front will slowly ease its way across Lakes Erie and Ontario overnight. A general light to modest south to southeasterly flow out ahead of the front will give way to a northerly flow behind the front.
