Issued at 1231 AM CDT Sat Apr 4 2026

Overnight

As the cold front moves east overnight, the threat for flash
flooding will come to an end across northeast Iowa, southeast
Minnesota, and southwest Wisconsin. This should move southeast
Minnesota and northeast Iowa by 1 AM and in southwest and
central Wisconsin by 4 AM.

Meanwhile, further north in north-central Wisconsin, freezing rain
will gradually end between 6 AM and 8 AM. Up to a quarter inch of
additional ice will be possible in eastern Taylor County and up to 2
tenths of an inch in Clark County. As a result, no changes are
likely needed for the Winter Weather Advisory in these counties.

This Afternoon and Evening

The surface low will move northeast across Ontario this afternoon
and into Quebec this evening. Wrap-around precipitation, associated
with the deformation band, will move east across north-central
Wisconsin. Elsewhere, the combination of steep 950-850 mb lapse rate
and surface-based CAPES up to 50 J/kg will result in scattered
rain/snow showers. There might be some graupel at times with some of
the stronger showers. High temperatures will range from the upper
30s to around 50.

Easter Sunday Afternoon and Sunday Evening

A shortwave trough will move southeast through the region during the
afternoon of Easter Sunday and Sunday evening. Steep 950-900 mb
lapse rates will result in another round of scattered rain and snow
showers. Accumulations will on the light side. High temperatures
will range from the lower 40s to lower 50s.

Tuesday Night into Next Weekend

A cold front will move southeast into the region on Tuesday night
and Wednesday. This front will then become semi-stationary for the
remainder of the week. As low pressure systems moves along this
front, there will be periodic showers and storms. High temperatures
will be primarily in the 50s.

IFR to LIFR conditions continue this morning then conditions
slightly get better as CIGS increase to IFR to MVFR range for
the afternoon. CIGS gradually increase again to widespread MVFR
for the overnight period. Light rain and snow continues for
western Wisconsin through mid morning. Scattered rain and snow
showers move into the region this afternoon. West to northwest
winds for the TAF period with sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph
with gusts of 25 to 35 mph possible during the afternoon and
evening.

.HYDROLOGY...
Issued at 635 AM CDT Sat Apr 4 2026

Heavy rain from Friday afternoon into Friday night has resulted
in rises on area rivers and streams. The Kickapoo River has seen
major flooding at the Ontario river gage with minor flooding
either ongoing or forecasted to occur by later this afternoon.
There has been flooding along Highway 131 in Vernon County
resulting in roads and bridges being closed along this highway.
The majority of rivers and streams in southwest Wisconsin may it
minor flood stage today or Sunday as runoff gets into the
rivers and streams. No additional heavy rainfall will occur
through early next week.
