SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT National Weather Service ANCHORAGE AK 1213 AM AKST Thu Feb 12 2026 AKZ701-711-722-723-121300- Anchorage-Lower Matanuska Valley-SW Kenai Peninsula- NW Kenai Peninsula- Including the cities of Anchorage, Eagle River, Eklutna, Palmer, Wasilla, Big Lake, Homer, Anchor Point, Ninilchik, Clam Gulch, Kenai, Soldotna, Sterling, and Nikiski 1213 AM AKST Thu Feb 12 2026 ...BANDS OF HEAVY SNOW FROM HOMER NORTH TO WASILLA THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING... A band of heavy snow continues to slowly lift north across the western Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage Bowl, and western Matanuska Valley overnight. Snowfall rates within this band may approach one to two inches per hour at times. Expect significantly reduced visibility as low as one half mile or less at times in heavy snow bands. One to three inches of snow accumulation is possible where heavy snow bands persist, especially along the Sterling Highway corridor from Kenai to Homer.
