.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
As of 830 PM Monday...

Weak isentropic lift across the Mid-Ohio Valley and northward
has resulted in persistent mid-level clouds across the area
throughout the afternoon and evening. While the probability is
low, isolated sprinkles cannot be ruled out through early
tonight, although most precipitation will likely remain in the
form of virga given very dry antecedent low-levels. Have
increased cloud cover throughout the early overnight across the
Mid-Ohio Valley and northern WV.

Otherwise, dry weather is expected across the vast majority of
the forecast area amid increasing upper level clouds later
tonight. Did tweak down overnight temperatures across the
valleys given low dew points and some decoupling this evening.
The rest of the forecast remains on track.

As of 1145 AM Monday...

A high pressure system will continue to provide dry weather
across the region tonight and Tuesday as it slides off to the
east. A warm front will provide some clouds this afternoon and
tonight, but no precipitation is expected. Southerly winds
will develop as the high slides eastward, allowing for
moderating temperatures. With some a decent breeze overnight,
the National Blend of Models went well above MOS guidance. There
is some concern in the deeper mountain valleys that typically
radiate good, with the timing of the winds stopping the
radiation being critical. Will need to monitor those valleys
this evening as they could get lower than expected during the
evening hours. Afternoon temperatures by Tuesday afternoon are
expected to be in the 60s for the lowlands and even some lower
elevations in the mountains.

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/...
As of 1152 AM Monday...

The next potent low pressure system will approach late Tuesday night
into Wednesday with a large shield of precipitation approaching from
the southwest Wednesday morning. The strong area of low pressure
will create a tightened surface pressure gradient, resulting in
gusty wind across the forecast area. At this time, wind
potential generally looks to be below advisory criteria. There
is some potential for isolated severe thunderstorms. The SPC
currently has our area outlooked in a marginal risk Wednesday.
However, the timing of the main frontal passage looks to be
during the morning or early afternoon, allowing minimal time for
destabilization. Models only forecast 200- 500 J/kg of MLCAPE
between 12Z and 18Z Wednesday with 50-75 kts of 0- 6km bulk
shear. The large amount of shear may hinder the organization of
severe thunderstorms. Perhaps the main threat of any storm that
develops could be damaging wind gusts as heavy rain pulls strong
winds from aloft down to the surface.

Temperatures will run quite mild Wednesday with highs in the upper
60s to near 70 degrees. By Wednesday night, cold air will wrap
around the backside of low pressure, bringing lows down into the
lower 30s areawide. Temperatures will only reach the 30s and lower
40s for daytime highs Thursday.

Snow showers can be expected Thursday across the northeast mountains
as westerly upslope winds carry moisture into the area from the
lower Great Lakes. A few inches of snow accumulation can be expected
in the higher elevations.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
As of 1152 AM Monday...

Dry weather will return Friday under high pressure. A weak wave of
low pressure will approach this weekend, potentially bringing
another round of rain and snow showers Saturday, with light
accumulating snow possible in the northeast mountains. Models
diverge from Sunday onward, with some solutions bringing dry
weather and high pressure Sunday, and other solutions keeping
the chance of upslope rain and snow showers Sunday in the higher
elevations. We will keep a slight chance of precipitation in
our forecast for now.

.AVIATION /06Z TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
As of 1253 AM Tuesday...

VFR conditions expected through the period with light to calm
winds this morning across the lowlands; light, persistent
SE'rly winds across the mountain ridges. Warm front will
lift northward through the area, allowing for chances of some
very light rain showers across SE Ohio and Ohio River Valley of
West Virginia next few hours. This activity will cease by
~07-08z as it lifts out of the area.

LLWS between 30-40kts was left into the TAFs until ~09-10z at
most sites as winds are light to calm, but flow will gradually
be picking up early this morning to eventually mitigate the
LLWS.

Clouds will filter in through the day today, but will still
remain VFR. S-SE'rly winds will become breezy to gusty through
the day with gusts between 20 and 30kts likely across the
mountains this afternoon.

After ~00z Tuesday, VFR to remain until disturbance moves up
from the south, bringing likelihood of rain after ~06z. SE'rly
flow remains gusty with gusts up to 35-40 mph likely.

...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER TUESDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY EVENING...

Minimum afternoon relative humidity values ranging from around 30
to 40 percent and strengthening southerly winds will result in
elevated fire danger across the area throughout Tuesday afternoon
into the evening, with wind gusts in excess of 30 mph possible.
