The primary threat will be cloud to ground lightning. Snow is likely over the mountains this afternoon and evening. The snow will initially occur at the highest elevations, generally above 11,000 feet, but will gradually reach down to 9000 feet by sunrise Monday. The best chance for heavier accumulations will be over the southern Sangre De Cristo mountains. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will be possible, from the Eastern Mountains, across the Plains from Monday through Wednesday. A few thunderstorms on Monday could become strong on the Plains, with 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch hail and wind gusts near 50 mph. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected from Monday through Wednesday. Localized flooding may be possible in flood prone areas. High elevation snow is expected with up to a food along the Continental Divide, and 1 to 2 feet over the Eastern Mountains. Snow will remain confined to above 10000 feet. Daily, diurnal showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday through Saturday, mainly over the mountains with lightning and gusty outflow winds the main storm risks. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be possible over portions of the region. 10/27
