The primary threat from storms today will be cloud to ground lightning, small hail, wind gusts to 45 mph and brief periods of heavy rain. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Less thunderstorm coverage is anticipated on Sunday, with most of the activity over the mountains along and north of highway 50. On Monday, storm activity will increase all areas, and a few strong to marginally severe storms will be possible across the far eastern plains. Much cooler weather will move into the region late monday into Tuesday. Some snow is likely over the higher mountain peaks on Tuesday. A few snow flakes may even be possible over Monument Hill Tuesday morning. Some rumbles of thunder may occur over the mountains during the day Tuesday. Cooler weather will remain over the region Wednesday with only isolated thunder possible. From Thursday into next weekend, it will warm up once again with isolated afternoon and early evening thunder possible. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... At 642 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles west of Tyrone, or 21 miles northeast of Trinidad, moving
northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
