  cold front is forecast to move across the peninsula on

Local radar imagery shows dry conditions over east central
Florida. GOES-16 satellite imagery shows partly to mostly cloudy
skies. Temperatures are currently in the low to mid 70s with dew
points in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Winds are breezy to windy from
the east-southeast at 15-20mph with gusts to 25-30mph. Isolated
to widely scattered (PoPS ~20-30%) onshore-moving showers are
forecast into the afternoon mainly over the coastal counties south
of New Smyrna beach, in addition to eastern Okeechobee and Osceola
counties. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s to low 80s are forecast
with partly cloudy to partly sunny skies. Breezy to windy
conditions are expected into this afternoon with east-southeast
winds at 15-20mph and gusts to 30mph with occasional gusts to

with PWATs around 1 inch. However, increasing onshore flow should
keep the low levels moistened enough to support showers across
the coastal counties with precip coverage around 15-30 percent.
Shower activity remains shallow with limited measurable
accumulations. The best chance for a shower to reach interior
counties exists across portions of western Okeechobee and western
Osceola. Afternoon highs are mostly forecast to range the mid 70s
while areas across the far interior reach the upper 70s.

Wednesday... The strong cold front moves across western Florida
Wednesday morning, approaching the central Florida peninsula into
the early afternoon. Breezy southwest winds around 20 mph develop
ahead of the front. A muggy airmass builds with surface dew points
in the mid to upper 60s. 00Z CAM guidance shows the line of showers
and storms reaching far northern portions of Lake and Volusia county
after 12 PM. However, some guidance indicates isolated northeast
moving showers earlier in the day ahead of the main line. The
greatest shower and storm coverage has been nudged slightly
southward, now occurring north of a line from Vero Beach to
Kissimmee Prairie (60-80%). Otherwise, hazards remain on track with
yesterday's forecast, and a marginal risk for a severe storm exists
along and north of the I-4 corridor. Steep low level lapse rates and
surface CAPE look sufficient for strong storm development. The
uncertainty in storm strength remains in the lower mid levels where
lapse rates remain poor. Above 700 mb, however, lapse rates quickly
steepen allowing for cold 500 mb temperatures around -11 to -14 C.
Strong to marginally severe storms which develop will be capable of
frequent lightning strikes and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph.
Hail up to one inch in diameter cannot be ruled out although some
melting is likely to occur in the warm layer. Low level shear
profiles around 25-35 kts appear to be mostly unidirectional with
perhaps a very subtle veering trend, and an isolated tornado threat
will be present. Outside of localized strong to marginally severe
storms, QPF estimates continue to trend 0.25 inches or less.

High temperatures reach the mid 80s across the south beneath cloudy
skies. Slightly cooler across the north where precip will arrive
earlier, and temperatures are forecast in the low 80s. Behind the
front, overnight lows fall into the low to mid 50s. A few areas of
northern Lake and northern Volusia reach the upper 40s.

Thursday-Saturday... A much drier airmass arrives Thursday and
Friday as high pressure builds behind the cold front. Temperatures
become noticeably cooler on Thursday with afternoon highs ranging
the upper 60s to low 70s. Friday morning is forecast to be the
coldest morning of the week with lows in the 40s. Temperatures will
be quick to rebound reaching the mid to upper 70s Friday
afternoon and even a few areas seeing 80 degrees near Lake
Okeechobee. The warming trend continues Saturday with morning lows
in the 50s and highs in the low to mid 80s. Moisture begins to
gradually return Saturday as high pressure retreats over the
Atlantic and the next cold front approaches from the west. Most
areas are forecast to remain dry on Saturday. However, some models
suggest a boundary of locally higher moisture ahead of the cold
front which could promote isolated to scattered showers (20-30%)
north of I-4.

Sunday-Tuesday... The cold front is forecast to move southward
across the area Sunday, but there is model disagreement in the
timing. Generally forecasting 40-50 PoPs areawide Sunday. Modest
CAPE suggests a low potential for an isolated lightning storm.
Uncertainty exists in PoPs overnight Sunday and into Monday. Have
kept NBM PoPs suggesting 20 percent coverage of showers across the
area. This seems to follow a Euro model solution which keeps
lingering moisture and precipitation behind the front. Dry
conditions return by Tuesday. Highs are forecast to generally
range the 70s each afternoon. Depending on the frontal timing,
areas across the south could see temperatures reach the low 80s on
Sunday.

Today-Wednesday... Poor to hazardous boating conditions as a cold
front approaches from the west. Small Craft Advisories are in effect
for the local waters with the exception of nearshore Volusia where
small craft should exercise caution. Southeast winds around 20-25
kts increase to 25-30 kts overnight with occasional gusts near Gale
Force across offshore Volusia and offshore Brevard. Winds veer
southwest Wednesday subsiding to 15-20 kts across the nearshore
waters for a brief period. Seas of 5-6 ft build to 6-8 ft overnight,
gradually subsiding through the day Wednesday. A few onshore moving
showers are forecast across the waters today. Shower and storm
chances increase tomorrow ahead of the front. A few strong to
marginally severe storms will be possible tomorrow and will be
capable of wind gusts of 34 kts or greater.

Thursday-Saturday... Hazardous conditions continue early Thursday
with northwest winds of 25-30 kts. Winds diminish to 10-15 kts late
Thursday night, veering north. Seas of 6-9 ft offshore slowly
subside becoming 4-5 ft across the Gulf Stream Friday. Favorable
boating on Friday. South to southwest winds increase to 10-20 kts
into Saturday. Dry Friday and Saturday before isolated to scattered
showers return north of Cape Canaveral Saturday.

Breezy to windy southeast winds today, as the pressure gradient
tightens ahead of an approaching strong cold front. Winds
14-18kts today, with gusts 24-27kts this afternoon. The highest
wind gusts are forecast along the coast, especially south of Cape
Canaveral. Winds will slacken slightly after sunset, but remain
breezy overnight while veering. Then, winds look to become
increasingly windy/gusty once again early Wednesday morning, with
southwest winds approaching 20kts and gusts near 30kts.

Generally dry (VFR) conditions through Wednesday morning, with a
few light showers remaining possible along the Treasure Coast into
the early afternoon. However, coverage and confidence on timing
are too low to include a mention. The cold front is forecast to
be just NW of MCO through the 18Z (the end of the current 12Z TAF
package), so have not included any VCTS/TSRA at this time. But,
expect mention of precipitation to be needed by the 18Z package
later today. There is a Marginal (1/5) Risk for severe storms
Wednesday. Main threats will be strong to severe wind gusts,
coin-sized hail, and a brief tornado.

Today-Friday... Moisture returns today into Wednesday ahead of a
strong cold front. Dry post frontal conditions build Thursday and
Friday. Near Red Flag conditions are forecast Thursday with min RHs

sensitivities continue west of I-95 on Friday with continued RHs in
the low to mid 30s. Light and variable winds Friday.

.RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT...
A High Risk of life-threatening rip currents exists at all
central Florida Atlantic beaches. Entering the water is highly
discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't
swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following
the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or
wave for help.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
East-southeast winds at 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 30kts (occasional
gusts to 35kts) and seas to 6 to 8 feet are expected to produce
hazardous boating conditions today. Small Craft Advisories are in
effect for the local waters with the exception of nearshore
Volusia where there is a small craft should exercise caution.

.HIGH WIND IMPACT...
East-southeast winds increase to 15 to 20 mph today with gusts up
to 25-30mph (especially along the coast).

.FIRE WEATHER IMPACT...
Dry fuels and gusty winds will lead to fire sensitivities today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
A High Risk of rip currents is expected today and at least a Moderate
risk of dangerous rip currents is forecast through late week.

Boating conditions will remain hazardous Wednesday as a strong
cold front approaches and moves across the local waters.

The strong cold front will bring increasing shower chances and
isolated to scattered lightning storms Wednesday into Wednesday
night. Isolated severe storms are forecast over and north of
northwestern Osceola and northern Brevard counties where there is
a Marginal Risk (5-14% risk) for severe storms. Isolated severe
storms will be capable of frequent lightning strikes, damaging
wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail to 1" in diameter, and locally heavy
rainfall leading to isolated flooding. An isolated tornado threat
(2-5% risk) also exist.

Breezy southwest winds develop Wednesday ahead of the front, with
frequent gusts between up to 30-35 mph.

Northwest winds around 10 to 15 mph and dry conditions will lead
to enhanced fire sensitivities to near critical conditions on
Thursday. Winds diminish into Friday although dry conditions
persist.
