Water is near homes in the Blackhawk Park area of Portage on the
south side of the river along Old River Road. Floodwaters are over
West Lake Road and Blackhawk Road in the Blackhawk Park area.

- At 3:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet.

Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane
Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water
over it in places. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the Town
of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few homes
in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the first
floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards.

* IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, In the Blackhawk Park area in the Town of
Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane
Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water
over it in places. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the Town
of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few homes
in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the first
floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 17.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

Today through Wednesday:
Clouds will gradually increase today ahead of approaching low
pressure. Below normal temperatures are expected once again,
with highs not getting out of the 40s. This will set the stage
for a quick burst of snow late afternoon into the evening
hours, as temperatures cool quickly due to east winds off the
lake, the loss of daytime heating, and the onset of
precipitation. Light accumulations will be possible (generally
under an inch) north of I-94.
After a very brief lull in precipitation, rain showers are
expected to move in from the south late evening into the night
as strong warm advection kicks in ahead of an approaching low.
Could see enough instability by late in the night for a few
thunderstorms, with some hail not out of the question. This
round of precip will likely move out by mid-morning Wednesday,
with attention then turning to the potential for more storms
late morning into the afternoon as the warm sector of the low
pokes into southern Wisconsin. The big question remains if
there will be enough instability for stronger storms as the cold
front approaches, with more than enough shear for organized
storms. There are definitely mixed signals among models with
the afternoon storm potential, some so uncertainty remains.

Clouds will gradually increase today ahead of an approaching
low, with VFR ceilings persisting through the afternoon hours. A
quick round of snow is likely to develop by early evening, with
up to an inch possible, mainly north of I-94. The snow may only
stick to grassy and elevated surfaces unless the rates are
briefly high enough. Snow should melt by early Wednesday morning
as temperatures rise under southerly winds. Rain showers will
move in from the south later tonight into Wednesday morning,
with a few thunderstorms also possible. A couple of the storms
could produce some hail as well.
More showers and storms will be possible later Wednesday morning
into the afternoon, though there is less confidence in this
round of precip. If storms do develop, there will be a potential
for some of the storms to become severe.
Breezy southeast winds today will pick up this evening into
tonight, with gusts of 30 to 35 knots likely. Despite the higher
winds a the surface, a period of low level wind shear might
still be possible given strong winds aloft.
Lower ceilings and visibilities are possible with the snow later
today, with low ceilings likely tonight into Wednesday as the
rain showers move through.
