* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Lowest roads beside the river flood around
Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition, low-lying
roads in Southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded including Robert
Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of Niblett Bluff
Park with access roads to camp houses cut off around the park.
Access roads to the river in Northeastern Orange County become
flooded.

including Strothers Crossing Road near the community of Calcasieu
and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have two to three feet of
water over the road and are subject to being closed. Flooding of
forested areas near the river will also occur.

Northerly winds in the wake of this mornings frontal passage have
dropped dewpoints into a more comfortable low to mid 60s this
morning, but this will be short lived as a high pressure axis
slides east of the area by this afternoon turning winds back out
the south which will pull tropical moisture back across the area.
Areas of fog are being observed early this morning near the coast
as marine fog has developed over the near shore coastal waters.
The northerly winds should keep most of this fog at the coast or
offshore, but some patchy fog could creep inland where the winds
go variable over the next few hours. Any inland fog will dissipate
no later than 9 AM.
The biggest issue over the next few days will be strong and gusty
winds developing each day in response to a series of ejecting
northeast. A wind advisory, Coastal Flood Advisory and Small Craft
Advisory (consider yourself well advised) have been issued with
this morning's package for Wednesday and all of these will likely
be needed again each day through the end of the week.
Guidance has backed off the previous scattered convection during
the afternoons Wednesday and Thursday, but given the very warm and
tropical airmass expected to be in place, it wouldn't be
surprising to see at least a few showers or storms pop up
especially across parts of central Louisiana and interior
Southeast Texas where temperatures will be at their highest.

Southerly winds will remain elevated Friday and Saturday ahead of
the next cold front progged to move across the area Saturday. WPC
has highlighted the area in a marginal risk of excessive rainfall
for heavy rain producing storms along and ahead of this
boundary. Guidance has been consistent on a significant cool down
with the airmass behind this front bringing temperatures from
well above climatological normals this week to noticeably below
for next week. Highs Sunday through Tuesday will top out in the
mid to upper 60s with overnight lows falling back into the mid to
upper 40s. The airmass will begin to modify by late Tuesday into
next Wednesday.

Patchy marine fog may continue to intermittently reduce
visibilities to between 5-7SM at the coastal terminals through
approximately 13Z before improving. Low level clouds will continue
to increase through the morning likely fluctuating between IFR and
MVFR through the afternoon. IFR ceilings will become more
prevalent after sunset through the night. Marine fog will again
develop overnight impacting the coastal terminals with
intermittent light fog after 06Z. Easterly winds now will turn
Southeasterly by late morning between 10-15 knots gusting as high
as 25 knots. Winds will remain gusty overnight into Wednesday
morning.

A Marine Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM this
morning although patchy fog may remain over the near shore coastal
waters through much of the day. Offshore flow will prevail early
this morning before turning back onshore by late this morning into
this afternoon. Onshore flow will increase late tonight to
between 20-25 knots with gusts to 30 knots as an area of low
pressure develops and moves across the Plains. Seas will build in
response to between 4 and 7 feet. The strong, gusty winds will
persist through Saturday night as additional low pressure areas
develop across Texas and move Northeastward.
