This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will develop across southern
Colorado this afternoon.  The main risks from thunderstorms today
will be lightning, gusty outflow winds up to 60 mph, and brief heavy
rainfall. Some small hail will be possible with the stronger
storms over the mountains today. The risk for localized flash
flooding looks low due to fast storm motions. However, repeated
training of storms on burn scars will be possible, which could lead
to periods of enhanced run off if this occurs.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue into the overnight hours,
particularly across the mountains and valleys.  Brief moderate
rainfall and lightning will be the primary risks.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Thunderstorms will be possible each day through the end of the
work week, with the best coverage of storms expected to be over
the higher terrain. The main risks from storms will be lightning,
locally heavy rainfall and gusty outflow winds, with a few stronger
storms producing hail to near 1 inch in diameter.

At 306 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Timpas, or 15 miles southwest of La Junta, moving northeast at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
La Junta, North La Junta, Rocky Ford, Swink, and Timpas.
