The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of New Jersey, including 
the following areas, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, 
Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Somerset, 
Southeastern Burlington, Sussex, Warren and Western Monmouth and 
Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Carbon, 
Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, 
Monroe, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and 
Western Montgomery.

While some lingering showers will be around today, the heavy rain 
threat has ended and therefore the flood watch is cancelled. There 
are several flood warnings however in effect, therefore please 
continue to heed remaining road closures.

.SYNOPSIS...
Weak surface high pressure influences the region through
tonight. Low pressure approaches the region Saturday and
crosses the region Saturday night. High pressure begins to
build in later Sunday and regains dominance over the region
Monday night through Thursday.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
No major changes were made to the forecast with the mid morning
update. Today and tonight will be our main respite from the rainy
conditions that have dominated most of this week. A surface ridge
associated with an eastern Canada High will be in place as a mid and
upper level short wave ridge crosses the region. While temperatures
will still be above normal, onshore flow developing by mid day will
temper any heating due to the ridging aloft and any breaks in the
clouds.

The main concern through this period will be the potential for any
marine layer stratus to advect into the region overnight tonight. It
looks like winds will stay up enough that it should be primarily a
stratus event and not too much fog.

.SHORT TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Main focus of the forecast is the short term. Guidance is in
reasonable agreement regarding surface low currently developing
in Texas tracking northeastward and passing northwest of the
area Sunday night. Aloft, shortwave lifting northeastward
accompanying the surface low will be strengthening and gaining a
bit of a negative tilt as it moves across the region, though not
the most pronounced one. Warm advection well ahead of the system
will cause rain to start breaking out from southwest to
northeast as we head through the day Saturday, though dry air
initially will slow it down a bit. This may also lead to enough
cooling on the leading edge to result in a bit of mixed precip
in the higher elevations of the Poconos on Saturday, though it
looks light and brief before the strengthening southeasterly
flow brings enough warming to make it all rain even there.

As the system doesn't quite get a full negative tilt and
appears reasonably progressive, and as the warm front doesn't
appear to make it quite up to our region, looks like the risk of
really heavy rains in the neighborhood of 2 inches is probably
not high, though a few isolated spots could get that high and
some isolated flooding seems quite possible given how wet
conditions are already. We remain under a marginal outlook for
excessive rain from WPC. Overall though, QPF amounts seem to be
closer to an inch, though this could come down heavily Saturday
evening and high rates may require flood advisories regardless.
There does appear to be enough instability and especially
forcing to generate some embedded thunderstorms Saturday night,
so have included chance of thunder for a good chunk of the
region. Severe risk right now appears relatively low but with
plenty of wind aloft it wouldn't take a whole lot. As with many
warm advection wind events, guidance appears to be running hot,
but gusts in the 30-40 mph range look like a decent bet with
stronger winds right at the coast possible. For now will hold
off on wind advisories but its possible we may need some
especially right along the coast Saturday night.

System passes quickly late Saturday night and we quickly dry out
and cool down after temps peak in the 50s for most overnight.
Wind initially have a lull late at night and early Sunday, but
should quickly pick back up as we head through the day, with
gusts possibly approaching 50 mph by late in the day into the
night, thanks to the surface low lingering over Maine,
strengthening a bit further, and high pressure already trying to
build back in from the west, all of which really tightens the
gradient up. So, we might need area-wide wind advisories by late
Sunday into Sunday night, especially higher elevations. Speaking
of which, the Poconos may get some more snow showers on the back
side of the system with the cyclonic flow and cold advection
later Sunday and Sunday night, a few of which could sneak
further southeast, though most likely in the form of rain at
lower elevations.

In any case, we're in for a wild ride, which isn't quite done by
the end of the weekend...

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
The wild ride starts to wind down Monday night, but it looks
like a pretty windy day before then as the strong low pressure,
which by this point will near eastern Maine, continues heading
away to the east while high pressure to the southwest continues
building in. Winds are looking likely to gust 40-50 mph across
much of the area, so wind advisories are quite possible for this
period as well. Fortunately, this will be the beginning of the
end of the windy weather as the high finally takes stronger hold
as we head into Monday night.

Tuesday through Thursday, the high slides by to the south and
then off the coast, keeping a westerly downslope flow across the
region with warm advection aloft. This will help lead to a
considerable warming trend, with temps 5-10 warmer on Tuesday as
compared to Monday, another 5 or so warmer Wednesday and another
5 or so warmer Thursday. That should bring temps approaching 70
from Philly southward, away from the coast at least, while the
chilly ocean waters will keep the beaches closer to 50. The next
chance of precip doesn't appear to arrive til week's end.

.AVIATION /14Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.

Through today...VFR. Winds will be veering from NNE to SE by
the afternoon. Wind speeds will be around 5-10 kt through the
day. High confidence in prevailing VFR.

Tonight...Starting VFR. There is a high risk (90%) for low
stratus (with MVFR or even IFR ceilings) to advect in off the
ocean. If this happens, KACY and KMIV are the most likely to be
affected and would see the impacts the earliest (as early as
03Z). The chance is slightly lower (60%) that the low stratus
will advect as far inland as KPHL, KILG, KPNE, and KTTN (if this
were to happen it would occur after 06Z). It is unlikely that
the low stratus would reach as far inland as KABE and KRDG. SE
and E winds less than 10 kt throughout the night. Moderate
confidence on the overall pattern, but low confidence on details
with regards to the marine stratus.

Outlook...

Saturday...IFR or becoming IFR with southeast winds gusting
20-30 kts, possibly higher, with rain during the afternoon and
thunderstorms possible at night.

Sunday...becoming VFR with strong west-northwest winds and peak
gusts 25-35 kts, possibly higher.

Monday...VFR with strong west-northwest winds and peak gusts
30-40 kts, possibly higher.

Tuesday...VFR with lighter west-northwest winds.

.MARINE...
Small craft advisory conditions, primarily for elevated seas
continues on the Atlantic coastal waters. Seas should begin to
diminish tonight, and we could see up to a 12 hour lull in SCA
conditions on the coastal waters from Sandy Hook to Little Egg
Inlet. Otherwise, should see seas hover around 5 feet.

SCA conditions aren't expected on the Delaware Bay through tonight.

On all waters, low stratus, or even some fog could develop tonight,
especially close to the coast. At this point, it appears as if the
winds will stay elevated enough to limit visibility restrictions,
but will be watching trends closely.

Outlook...

Saturday...SCA conditions anticipated.

Saturday night...Gale watch NJ coast; SCA looks likely
elsewhere.

Sunday-Monday...Gales likely.

Tuesday...SCA likely.

Minor river flooding is continuing along the Rancocas Creek at
Pemberton.

Another round of widespread rain could result in additional flood
concerns Saturday and Sunday. We will continue to monitor guidance
trends.

MINOR FLOODING: Minimal to no property damage, but some public
threat can be expected (e.g. inundation of roads).

MODERATE FLOODING: Some inundation of structures and roads near

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
Coastal flooding is expected this morning along the Atlantic Coast,
Delaware Bay and tidal Delaware River. The previous forecast was
tracking too low, so expanded the coastal flood advisory early this
morning.

More rounds of tidal flooding are very likely (90%) with the high
tide cycles on Saturday. Forecast continues with widespread minor
tidal flooding. However, for some locations the current forecast is
just below moderate flood levels especially with the Saturday
morning high tide. Rain coming near the time of high tide could
exacerbate the tidal flooding and increase the risk for moderate
tidal flooding. Minor flooding is again expected with the late
Saturday high tide, but it will be the lower of the two astronomical
high tides, so impacts should be less than the early Saturday high
tide. The forecast Sunday has become trickier with a slower-moving
system currently expected. Depending on the timing of the departure,
winds may not shift offshore until later in the day, thus elevating
coastal flooding concerns once again for the Sunday morning high
tide.

There is an increasing risk (70%) for widespread minor tidal
flooding on the northeastern Chesapeake Bay. The primary high tide
of concern is the Sunday daytime high tide, though spotty minor
flooding is possible with the Saturday night high tide as well.

Once this morning's high tide passes, we will reevaluate the tide
forecast and any advisories or other headlines that may be needed
for Saturday.
