KMLB radar imagery shows light to moderate widespread rain across
east central Florida with the heaviest activity over Lake and
Volusia counties. Analysis charts show a cold front stalled across
the western Atlantic waters and south Florida with low pressure
over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico along the southern fringe of
the front. Breezy to windy conditions are expected to develop
across central Florida by this evening as the low pushes offshore
over the south- central Atlantic waters. A couple of updates were
made to this morning's forecast with hi-res guidance and the NBM
coming in more in line with a stronger solution through Monday.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for coastal Volusia, Brevard, and
Indian River counties which may need to be expanded further in
time and south if confidence increases. A Gale Watch has been
issued starting at 4PM across the Volusia and Brevard county
waters with gusts up to 35-40kts forecast, before expanding
further south across all of the central Florida Atlantic waters
into the overnight hours. Wind gusts up to 30-35mph are forecast
this evening over inland locations with up to 40mph gusts along
the coast N of Martin county. Additionally, rainfall amounts of
1-2" are forecast with locally higher totals up to 3-4." A Marginal
Risk for Excessive Rainfall exists over the Treasure Coast today.
Expect afternoon high temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s
north of Lake Kissimmee to Melbourne and the mid 60s to near 70
degrees to the south.

Current-Tonight... Boating conditions will become hazardous as low
pressure tracks across the south-central waters this evening into
Monday. North winds increase from 15-20kts to 25-30kts this
evening across the Volusia and Brevard county waters before
spreading farther south across the Treasure Coast waters into
early Monday. Gusts to 35-40kts are forecast with a Gale Watch in
effect this evening and into tonight. Seas build from 3-5ft today to
5-8ft nearshore and 7-10 ft offshore.

Monday-Tuesday night (previous discussion)... Poor to hazardous
boating conditions will persist across the local Atlantic waters
Monday into Tuesday as an area of low pressure continues moving
offshore. Lingering moisture from the low will also lead to
continued isolated to scattered shower development across the
local waters on Monday. Northerly winds on Monday between 15 to 25
knots will keep seas between 7 to 11 feet. As the low moves
farther offshore on Tuesday, dry conditions will prevails and
winds will weaken to 10 to 15 knots, with seas slowly subsiding to
5 to 8 feet. A Small Craft Advisory for all legs of the local
Atlantic waters will remain in effect through 7 AM on Tuesday.
From 7 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday, the Small Craft Advisory will remain
in effect for the Gulf Stream waters, with the offshore waters
remaining under the Small Craft Advisory through 1 AM on
Wednesday.

Wednesday-Thursday (previous discussion)... Dry conditions will
prevail across the local Atlantic waters Wednesday through
Thursday as an area of high pressure extends eastward. Northerly
winds 10 to 15 knots will back to out of the southwest at 5 to 10
knots on Thursday, with seas generally remaining 4 to 6 feet.

A prolonged period of steady light to moderate rainfall, heavy at
times, will continue across the area through tonight. This
widespread rainfall, combined with developing gusty northerly
winds is forecast to bring the St Johns River at Astor to Action
Stage Monday. River levels are forecast to remain in Action Stage
into next week as northerly winds persist.

.PREV DISCUSSION...

Monday-Tuesday...The surface low is forecast to continue moving
eastward across local Atlantic waters on Monday, with lingering
moisture and northerly winds leading to a 20 to 30 percent chance
for some showers along the immediate coast. As the low continues to
pull away from the peninsula, rain chances will decrease, with drier
air quickly filtering in behind the low. An area of high pressure
will then shift southward across the Gulf of Mexico Monday night
into Tuesday, gradually extending eastward towards the peninsula. As
a result, dry conditions and clear skies are forecast through
Tuesday night. Northerly winds will also persist Monday through
Tuesday, remaining around 10 mph across the interior and 10 to 15
mph along the coast. Afternoon temperatures in the mid 60s to low
70s, with overnight lows in the low 40s to low 50s. Wind chills
overnight generally in the upper 30s to mid 40s both nights.

Despite the nice weather, stronger northerly winds across the local
Atlantic waters on Monday will lead to increasing seas. This will
translate to rough surf at the beaches, with breaking waves of 6 to
8 feet and minor beach erosion possible, especially with the
longshore current. With beach conditions likely becoming poor to
hazardous, entering the chilly surf is strongly discouraged Monday,
and even into Tuesday.

Wednesday-Saturday...High pressure will continue to dominate the
synoptic pattern across the peninsula through Thursday night, with
dry conditions and clear skies persisting. Northerly winds will
slowly back to out of the southwest by Thursday. A return of
isolated to scattered showers will be possible on Friday along a
weak cold front. Model guidance continues to indicate a minimal
moisture return out ahead of the front, with PWATs 1.1-1.3", hence
the lower PoPs (20-30 percent). This cold front, however, will cause
the pressure gradient to tighten across the peninsula, leading to
increasing southwesterly winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 35
mph. Winds will veer to out of the north and weaken on Saturday as
the front moves south of the area, with dry conditions and clear
skies prevailing once again locally. Temperatures will gradually
warm through Friday, with highs on Wednesday in the upper 60s to low

70s. Slightly cooler temperatures on Saturday behind the front with
highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Overnight temperatures will
follow a similar trend, with lows in the low 40s to mid 50s
Wednesday night, in the upper 40s to upper 50s Thursday and Friday
nights, and then falling into the low 40s to mid 50s once again

An area of high pressure will settle across the Florida peninsula
Tuesday through Thursday, accompanied by a dry airmass. This will
result in minimum RH values dropping to 35 to 45 percent across
most of the interior west of I-95. Northerly winds around 10 mph
will persist through Wednesday before slowly backing to out of the
southwest on Thursday. While conditions will not quite reach
critical fire weather thresholds, there could be some fire weather
sensitivities as we dry out through mid week. Minimum RH values
along the coast will generally be between 45 to 55 percent.
Moisture increases on Friday as a cold front moves southward
across the peninsula, but minimum RH values are forecast to once
again tank next weekend (30 to 45 percent).

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
An isolated threat for lightning storms will exist near Lake
Okeechobee, the southern Treasure Coast, and adjacent coastal
waters today. The primary threat will be occasional lightning
strikes, gusty winds to 30 to 40 mph, and heavy rainfall.
Activity will move off toward the northeast at around 40 mph.

.FLOOD IMPACT...
Several rounds of light to moderate rainfall, locally heavy at
times, will continue across all of east central Florida today. The
greatest risk will be along the Treasure Coast. Isolated flooding
may be possible as forecast total rainfall amounts from this
weekend approach 1 to 3 inches through tonight. Locally up to 4
inches will be possible, especially along the Treasure Coast.

.HIGH WIND IMPACT...
Northerly winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph by late this
afternoon into this evening and continue overnight. Wind gusts up
to 30 to 35 mph are forecast over inland locations with up to 40
mph gusts expected along the coast. A Wind Advisory goes into
effect from 4PM this evening through at least Monday morning along
the coast across Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties.

.COASTAL FLOOD IMPACT...
Minor beach erosion is forecast late tonight into Monday morning,
especially around the times of high tide due to developing
hazardous surf and large breaking waves.

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
A Moderate Risk of strong and dangerous rip currents is present
at all central Florida Atlantic beaches. Strong rip currents will
be likely near piers, jetties and reefs. Always swim near a
lifeguard and never swim alone.

In addition, gusty north winds building down the coast will
produce a longshore current by this afternoon along the beaches of
Volusia and Brevard counties. This current will become
increasingly strong tonight and into Monday as gusty north winds
increase further, extending south to the beaches along the
Treasure Coast. Large breaking waves up to 6 to 8 feet and
increasing rough surf can be expected overnight.

.MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
Should a lightning storm or two develop, isolated wind gusts up
to 30 to 35 knots will be possible near Lake Okeechobee, the
Treasure Coast, and adjacent coastal waters.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Poor to Hazardous boating conditions will develop through the day
and into tonight. North to Northeast winds around 15 to 20 knots
will increase further to around 25 to 30 knots this evening, with
gusts to Gale Force tonight. Through daybreak Monday morning, seas
will gradually build to 5 to 8 feet near shore and 7 to 11 feet
offshore. Cautionary Statements and Small Craft Advisories will be
in place through this evening with a Gale Watch in effect this
evening through Monday morning.

.RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
Widespread rainfall, combined with developing gusty northerly
winds, is forecast to bring the Saint Johns River at Astor to
Action Stage later this evening or overnight. River levels are
forecast to remain in Action Stage into next week as northerly
winds persist.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
Northerly winds will be breezy to windy again along the coast on
Monday.

A Moderate Risk of strong rip currents should continue at area
beaches into next week. A dangerous longshore current will be
present at area beaches again on Monday.

Boating and surf conditions will remain hazardous into early next
week. Cooler conditions are forecast through early week,
especially across the interior with wind chill values forecast to
reach the upper 30s to low 40s Tuesday morning.
