This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

Hot temperatures will persist across the area today, ranging from
the lower 90s in southwest Nebraska to the lower 100s south of
Interstate 70.

Scattered storms will develop in northeast Colorado and south of
Interstate 70 in northwest Kansas this afternoon. A few storms will
be capable of producing hail up to quarter size and damaging wind
gusts through the evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

More widespread severe weather is anticipated Friday afternoon and
evening. Storms will develop in Colorado during the afternoon and
move through the remainder of the area Friday night. Some of these
storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds and a
few tornadoes. Locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding will also
be possible.

Hot temperatures return for Sunday with highs in the upper 90s to
lower 100s.

...Brief Landspout Tornadoes Possible...

At 115 PM MDT, conditions are becoming favorable for the development
of landspout tornadoes in and close to the Seibert. However, at this
time it is unknown which if any storm would produce a landspout. Any
tornadoes which develop are expected to pose a limited threat.

Locations impacted include...
Stratton, Flagler, Seibert, Bethune, and Vona.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Goodland.

Landspout tornadoes can form with a developing thunderstorm before
rain, hail, and even thunder is observed. Landspout tornadoes are not
usually associated with a wall cloud and are often difficult to
detect with weather radar.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL KIT CARSON COUNTY
THROUGH 145 PM MDT...

At 121 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing a landspout 12 miles south of Vona, or 12 miles
southeast of Seibert, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Landspout tornadoes, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and nickel
         size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds
         could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured
         objects.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Kit
Carson County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
