The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty

Key Messages:

-Front moving through the region today/tonight

-Showers and possibly a thunderstorm possible this afternoon
 through the evening

-Much colder air arrives through Friday and lingers through
the weekend.

Broken line of showers entering NW GA attm will continue to trek
to the ESE through the day. Line is associated with a front
strung out ahead of a positively tilted mid level trof swinging
through the MS valley. With no real forcing associated with the
trof or front, expecting a slow decrease in both coverage and
intensity of any showers/storms with the front through the
evening. Surface winds will switch around to the NW behind the
line but given the orientation of the trof, winds aloft will
remain out of the SW which will serve to slow the moisture scour
thus clouds may hang in through Thu AM. Main dry push will occur
through the morning on Thursday as the cooler and drier airmass
filters in. Dewpoints will begin to drop overnight and through the
day tomorrow as the upper trof sets up over the Great Lakes and
arctic high shifts Southeast headed into the weekend. Thunderstorm
risk is low given lack of any instability in addition to modest
amounts of dry air above 850mb including a temp inversion at 850
to overcome. Can't rule out a stray Tstorm, mainly across NGA
where theres a little more dynamics in play, but overall..not
expecting much with the fropa.

A generally dry and seasonally cool few days is in store as a broad
longwave trough sweeps across the eastern third of the U.S. By the
middle of next week (around Christmas Day), models in pretty good
agreement bringing in the next chance for rainfall as a split-flow
jet sends some southern stream energy and moisture across the area.
Temperatures will moderate somewhat by Tuesday into Wednesday, ahead
of this system.

Temperatures over the weekend into the first part of next week will
be chilly but not unusual for late December. Expect general highs in
the 40s to lower 50s (area-wide) with lows in the 20s to lower 30s --
about 5-10F degrees below normal.

Finally burned off the ground fog once the low level inversion
broke. Cold front approaching the area during the day today and
expect a broken line of showers to accompany it. Best timing for
showers in metro sites is 20-24z with a peak in the 22-23z
timeframe. Very low end thunder chances..too low to put in the
taf, but they are non-zero and cannot be ruled out..particularly
along or just ahead of the line. Winds shift to the NW once the
line passes but the deeper cold air will lag until early
Friday..thus we could see some low clouds return to the region
10-12z timeframe in the AM...confidence is low to medium on them
but don't expect anything below 007 or so for ATL. Drier air
starts to work in during the day tomorrow leading to mainly VFR
conditions.

otherwise a broken line of showers and isolated thunderstorms will
move across mainly northwest and west-central Georgia later this
afternoon into this evening. The line of showers will gradually fall
apart as it moves southeast with only a few spotty showers lingering
south and east of I-85 after sunset this evening.

Late this morning, very low visibilities from dense fog are
improving across much of north and central Georgia, however
widespread low clouds and areas of fog will persist through early
this afternoon, especially across central Georgia, along and south
of I-20.

Visibilities at times will be reduced to less than 1/2 mile in
some locations. Travelers are urged to continue using caution
especially on interstates and state highways where sudden
flucuations in visibilities will occur.
