Areas of dense fog have developed along the Rhode Island coast with visibility dropping to less than one quarter mile. Dense fog with poor visibility will expand to the south coast of Massachusetts and the Cape and Islands through the morning. Drier air will move in after 1 pm with improving visibility. Until then, motorists should use caution and be prepared for rapidly changing visibility.
