The airmass behind the front is Pacific in origin. Therefore, it could even be milder behind the front Friday with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Cloudy in the morning, and then becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. The 12z/19 EPS is a little more aggressive with respect to below normal 500mb heights and colder 850mb temperatures over the weekend when compared to the 12z/19 GEFS. Therefore, at this time a return to near average temperatures is expected for Saturday and Sunday, and not the very quick warm- up depicted by the 12z/19 GFS. By early next week, there is model consensus for the trough to quickly dampen and move offshore as an anomalous upper ridge builds in from the W. Expect VFR conditions to prevail through the 06z TAF period but some marine CU are possible this afternoon for the SE terminals due to low pressure just off the NC coast. Dry/VFR conditions continue through Thursday. A chance of rain returns Thursday night into early Friday as an upper level trough tracks across the region.
