.SYNOPSIS...
A front will continue across the area today and Friday. Another
disturbance arrives for later Sat and continues into early next
week. High pressure returns for next Tuesday and into Wednesday.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
10 AM update: Fog lifted a bit earlier than anticipated so was
able to cancel dense fog advisories early. Otherwise, prior
forecast is on track.

4 AM update: An old frontal boundary lies over the Mid-Atlantic
as surface high pressure lies over the Northeast and Delmarva.
Mid- level ridging along the coast slides out to sea, and a mid-
level trough with shortwave energy approaches from the west
later today.

Another warm and humid day on tap. Highs will be in the upper
80s to around 90, but with surface dew points in the upper 60s
to low 70s, max Heat Index values will range from 90 to 95, with
some spots touching 97 to 98.

Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will develop by
this afternoon with best chances generally west of the I-95
corridor. SB CAPE values will range from 500 J/kg to 1500 or so
J/kg, and PWATs will range from 1.5 to 1.8 inches. Winds aloft
will be fairly light, generally less than 10 kt from 1000 mb to
700 mb, so any storms that develop will not have much movement
to them. Locally heavy rain may develop, and this may result in
localized flooding.

Any showers and thunderstorms will taper off by this evening.
Another warm and humid night on tap with patchy fog developing
once again. Lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.

.SHORT TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/...
Unsettled conditions for Friday and Saturday for the area.
Saturday is trending a bit drier with the precip pushing more
towards Sunday attm. Still a chance for showers/tstms Sat with
most areas 30%/40% pops. Before that, Friday will have mostly
high chance/low likely pops for most areas with low chance pops
for srn/ern NJ and most of Delmarva. The pattern will be
familiar with the front associated with an H5 trough approaching
the area Fri then weakening while stalling over the region Sat.

The heat and humidity will continue with temperatures 3 to 5
degrees above normal and highs in the mid/upper 80s for most
spots. Dew points will largely be in the 70s. Overnight lows
will continue to favor the upper 60s/low 70s regionwide.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
The upper ridging remains offshore for the late weekend and
into next week. The upper air pattern will feature and
noticeably deep H5 low across central Canada with a H5 trough
across the north central U.S. Our area will be on the edges of
this developing trough, so several shortwaves will move thru
Mon-Wed keeping the weather rather unsettled. The time period of
the greatest chance for rain and tstms will be Sunday into
Monday. During that period, an H5 short wave rotates up the
Tenn/Ohio Valley areas and across the Middle Altantic and
Northeast. We will carry categorical/likely pops for most areas
Sun and then show a decrease (to chance) Monday. Tue/Wed look
mostly dry as some weak ridging arrives, but a couple showers
for the are NW can't be ruled out, especially Tue.

Temperatures Sun/Mon will be held in check with the abundant
clouds and precip across the area. Humidity levels will not be
appreciated by most. As we head towards the middle of next week,
slightly drier air returns with dew points retreating back into
the 60s for most areas (except for the shore areas).
Temperatures will return above normal with more upper 80s and
low 90s for the metro Philly areas and Delmarva. A little cooler
for the Lehigh Valley and southern Poconos.

.AVIATION /15Z THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.

Rest of Today (through 00Z)...VFR overall. Scattered SHRA/TSRA,
mainly after 18Z, and mainly along and west of I-95. Locally
heavy rain possible. Brief sub-VFR conditions should a storm
pass over a given terminal. S to SE winds 5 to 10 kt. Moderate
confidence.

Tonight (00Z through 12Z)...VFR initially, then sub-VFR
conditions in fog/stratus, mainly after midnight. LGT/VRB to
nearly calm winds. Low confidence.

Outlook...

Fri/Sat... Early morning for possible. VFR except in scattered
showers/tstms which will be mostly during the afternoon and
early evening hours.

Sun/Mon... More widespread showers/tstms Sun into early Mon
with MVFR probable and IFR possible. Slow improvement later Mon.
Areas of fog possible overnight.

.MARINE...
Sub-Small Craft Advisory conditions today and tonight with S to
SE winds around 10 kt. Seas around 2 feet. Afternoon
thunderstorms possible on Delaware Bay.

VSBY restrictions in fog. Dense fog has developed over southern
New Jersey and Delaware ocean waters. A Marine Dense Fog
Advisory remains in effect until 10 am.

Outlook...

Largely sub-SCA Fri thru the weekend and into early next week.
Typical summertime weather with scattered showers/tstms for the
late afternoon and evening periods. Higher winds and waves near
tstms.

Rip currents...

There is a LOW risk for the development of dangerous rip currents
for the New Jersey and Delaware beaches today. Winds will be light
out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Breaking waves will be around 2
feet with a medium period south to southeast swell.

For Friday, there is a LOW risk for the development of dangerous
rip currents for the New Jersey and Delaware beaches. Winds will
remain light out of the east at 5-10 mph. Breaking waves are
forecast to be around 2 feet with a medium period southeasterly
swell.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
The latest TWL forecast has been issued. The previous High tide
showed mostly sub-advisory conditions at most points. The upcoming
higher high tide (Thu evening at the shore) are expected to have
lower levels than Wed. since we are later in time from the recent
New Moon. No CFW Advisory will be issued for the upcoming tides
at this time.
