Our main forecast concerns include gusty winds and potentially a
few severe thunderstorms for Wednesday night. Areas along and
west of I-65 are under a marginal risk for severe storms (level 1
out of 5) and we expect area-wide wind gusts of 40-50mph Wednesday
night, which could cause some localized damage even without any
storms. We have no headline at this time, but a wind advisory will
likely be issued by Wednesday morning.

Over the next 36 hours, a strong low pressure system will roll out
of the southwest states to the Mid Ms Valley. Warm advection ahead
of this system will keep our temps unusually warm, but not record
setting. Moisture will also increase, and we could start seeing
some showers late tonight. Rain chances will gradually increase
through Wednesday, then showers and isolated storms will be likely
Wednesday night. A gradually weakening, broken band of showers
and storms will come in from the west late in the evening. It will
be a common low-cape high-shear scenario. Damaging wind gusts
will be the main concern, but gradient winds will be strong and
gusty as well, so some downed limbs and local power outages may
occur as the showers and storms approach.

Showers will move out Thursday morning, followed by dry and still
milder than normal conditions Thursday afternoon and Thursday
night.

Another low pressure system will slide across the area Friday and
Saturday. It will not have much precipitation with it, but it
will bring a brief shot of colder air and perhaps a few rain and
snow showers.

After the brief shot of cold air drops our temps to normal levels
for the first half of the weekend, milder air will return quickly
as we go into next week. Along with the return of mild air,
unsettled wx will return with the next low pressure system
bringing showers and perhaps some thunder by Tuesday.

VFR conditions early in the TAF period will give way to MVFR cigs
and VCSH early Wednesday morning, which look to continue through
the afternoon but an improvement back to VFR Wednesday evening.
Isolated showers are possible at airports much of tomorrow, but
bulk of the more substantial rain will be after the current TAF
period. Light and variable winds tonight will veer to
southeasterly by late Wednesday morning, with a significant
increase in wind speeds Wednesday evening.
