A coastal low pressure system is forecast to impact Eastern North
Carolina over the weekend. Rainfall associated with this system will
first overspread the coast and OBX starting on Friday and then move
further inland on Saturday and Sunday. Latest forecast guidance
suggests widespread rainfall amounts around 1-3 inches with locally
higher amounts possible. This will bring a threat for localized
flooding, and excessive runoff across the area this weekend.

In addition this system will bring the potential for several coastal
threats including rough surf, localized ocean overwash, minor
coastal flooding and an elevated rip current risk.
