...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM EDT THIS 
EVENING FOR EASTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY...

At 611 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the thunderstorms that 
been producing heavy rainfall has ended over the warning area which 
has produced between 3 and 6 inches of rainfall. There is still some 
light to moderate rains that are occurring over the warning area. 
There is also another line of showers and thunderstorms that is 
located over inland Broward County that is slowly moving to the 
north northeast towards the warning area. If this line moves into 
the warning area, then  additional rainfall amounts 1 to 3 inches 
are possible over the warning area. Therefore, the Flash Flood 
Warning will remain in effect until 815 PM EDT this evening.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

At 652 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that there is still some 
light to moderate showers over the warning area. Rainfall amounts 
between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen from the early 
thunderstorms. This amount of water will take sometime to drain 
away. Therefore, the Flash Flood warning will remain in effect until 
815 PM EDT this evening.

Another day of scattered thunderstorms is on tap as ample moisture
remains in place across the area. Greatest synoptic forcing will
remain displaced to the north across northern and central Florida
near a weak frontal boundary. With easterly flow across the area,
the focus of convective initiation will occur along the Gulf Breeze
which should keep most showers and storms across interior areas
through the early afternoon. By the evening hours with outflow
boundary interactions, it will be possible to see a few showers and
storms around the metro areas heading towards sunset. 500mb
temperatures remain between -6C to -7C with the cooler temps across
the northern portions of the area in Palm Beach, Hendry and Glades
Counties. This is where we would most likely see any stronger
thunderstorm activity this afternoon and SPC has placed the region
in a Marginal risk for severe thunderstorms.

Much of the same is expected on Tuesday as deep moisture remains
entrenched across the region. With the added ingredient of diurnal
heating, shower and thunderstorm development will be once again
possible during the afternoon into the early evening hours. High
temperatures will reach upper 80s to low 90s across the majority of
our area today and Tuesday. It will not be uncommon to see afternoon
temperatures vary widely as shower and thunderstorm activity may
drop locations into the mid 70s, while nearby clear areas remain in
the upper 80s.

The unsettled pattern is likely to continue through the remainder
of the week and possibly the upcoming weekend, as copious
tropical moisture (precipitable water values over 2 inches) streams
northward out of the Caribbean in southerly flow between high
pressure over the central/eastern Bahamas and low pressure over
the western Gulf of Mexico. Embedded minor disturbances in the
mid/upper level flow, coupled with upper level divergence in the
entrance region of a jet stream extending from the Gulf through
the Mid-Atlantic states, will provide enough upper level forcing
for periods of showers/thunderstorms. Although veering wind
profiles (E-SE surface and SW from 500 mb up) will favor continued
warm air advection, lack of low level synoptic forcing means that
much of the precipitation will be driven by mesoscale influences
such as land/sea breeze circulations and convective outflows from
storms over the peninsula as well as over the Straits of Florida.
General storm motion from south to north will slightly favor
areas north of Alligator Alley from the interior to the Palm
Beaches for the more widespread precip coverage, but all areas
will have at least 70% PoPs through the week. Flooding will
certainly be a possibility throughout much of the long term
period, and we will keep a close eye for any increase in the
flooding likelihood as the week progress

High temperatures will be held down some by clouds and
precipitation, although even slight breaks in the clouds would
cause temperatures to hit 90F with heat index values near or
slightly over 100F in some areas.

evening, although not enough confidence to go beyond VCTS this
afternoon, so short-fuse amendments may be necessary for some

becoming easterly around 10kts by early afternoon.

Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms during the early evening
may contain gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. In
addition, a few storms could become strong to marginally severe in
nature with damaging wind gusts and hail possible.

Wind: The strongest storms could produce wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Hail: The strongest storms could produce hail up to quarter size.

Rip Currents: A high risk for rip currents will persist across the
Palm Beach beaches today. A moderate risk of rip currents will be
possible across Broward and Miami Dade County beaches today.

Waterspouts: A few waterspouts are possible today over the area
waters.

Flooding: Slow moving or training storms may lead to localized
flooding across some of the east coast metro areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will be possible
each afternoon and evening into the middle portion of the upcoming
work week. Localized flooding will continue to be possible each day
with any concentration of showers and thunderstorms over the same

There will be the potential of minor coastal flooding along the
Atlantic coast of South Florida mid to late week, especially during
