A few storm systems will move across the region over the forecast
period. This will bring several chances for rain, along with a
wide variation in temperatures, with well above average high and
low temperatures forecast between systems.

METSAT and radar this afternoon depict light rainshowers and cloud
cover continuing to track eastward across the region, as southwest
flow lifts warm air and moisture over a surface cold layer settling
over the region. High temperatures today range from the upper 40s to
the lower 60s across the CWA. Low temperatures tonight will be in
the mid to upper 40s. Chances for showers and isolated storms
continue through this evening. Rain chances return across northern
portions of the CWA Sunday, as a warm front lifts northward from
the Gulf coast and a storm system organizes over the western
Plains.

An upper low over the west coast will quickly translate eastward
across the southern states, its trough axis moving across the
forecast area early Monday. The surface storm system will track
northeastward across the Midwest region towards the Great lakes
Sunday night/early Monday, bringing additional rainfall and chances
for thunderstorms across the forecast area. This system is expected
to bring less than one-tenth of an inch of additional rainfall to
the CWA Monday, though locally higher amounts are possible where
thunderstorms develop. The main hazard with this system will be high
wind. Sustained wind speeds up to 30 knots, with gusts up to 40
knots are possible Monday.

Wind speeds relax by Tuesday as surface high pressure expands
across the region. Drier conditions will only last through Tuesday
night. From mid to late next week, a few systems will move across
the forecast area, bringing additional chances for rainfall. The
first system will track ENE, remaining north of the CWA, with its
cold front sweeping across the area Wednesday. The next will take
a more southerly track across the Gulf states next Friday.
Estimated total rainfall with these two systems range from 1 to 3+
inches between Wed-Fri. High pressure and drier conditions are
forecast to return by next weekend.

MVFR to IFR cigs are expected over the next 24-30 hours. MVFR vis
is likely at all sites. A weak ridge will shift over the midsouth
likely suppressing showers across north Mississippi and MEM, but
a few showers are possible near MKL and JBR during the middle of
the day. South winds will increase late tomorrow extending into
the next TAF cycle.
