This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, with strong
to severe storms possible, especially across portions of Southeast
New Mexico, the Western Permian Basin, and the Trans Pecos. Primary
threats will include large hail, damaging wind, frequent lightning,
and heavy rain... although a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Thunderstorms are possible each day this week, with the greatest
chance for severe thunderstorms over the Northeast Permian Basin and
Davis Mountains. Large hail and damaging wind are the main concerns.
Any storms that develop will be capable of producing frequent
lightning and locally heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southwestern Pecos,
northern Brewster and southeastern Jeff Davis Counties through 515 PM
CDT...

At 426 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles northeast of Alpine-Casparis Municipal Airport, or 11 miles
north of Alpine, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Pecos,
northern Brewster and southeastern Jeff Davis Counties.
