.UPDATE...The current forecast continues on track. Mainly fair weather
conditions prevailed across the islands during the morning hours.
However, shower activity with isolated thunderstorms were observed
across the Caribbean waters. So far, temperatures have reached the
upper 80s to low 90s across the coastal and urban areas of Puerto
Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Heat indices will continue to
increase and surpass the 108 degrees during the afternoon hours
across portions of northern Puerto Rico, including Vieques and
Culebra. There is a Heat Advisory in effect for the mentioned areas.
An upper-level trough continues to dominate the local weather
conditions. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected to
develop across portions of the central interior, western and
northwestern Puerto Rico due to the combination of excessive heating
and local effects. Therefore, there is an elevated risk of flooding
in urban areas, roads and small streams. Instability associated to
the upper-level trough will remain across the local region until
the end of the workweek.

.AVIATION...VFR conditions will prevail across all terminals
during the period. However, afternoon TSRA/SHRA development may
result in brief MVFR conds for TJPS/TJBQ between 18/17-23Z. Winds
from the E at 5-10 kts with higher gusts and sea breeze

An upper-level trough will dominate the weather pattern for the next
few days. Expect active afternoons. Uncertainty remains on the
potential impacts of Invest 94L for the local islands this weekend.
As the track and intensity of Invest 94L remain uncertain, residents
are urged to stay informed and continue to monitor the forecast as
this event evolves. A significant weather pattern change is expected
for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands next week as a polar
trough and associated frontal boundary approach the region. This
weather pattern may bring the anticipated seasonal October
temperatures while increasing precipitation and possible
thunderstorms to the area.

SHORT TERM...Today through Friday...

A retrograding TUTT-Low resulted in scattered to numerous showers
and isolated thunderstorms across the local waters and windward
portions of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico overnight. This
activity caused moderate to locally heavy rain, with the highest
rainfall estimates across southeast PR with more than an inch of
rain. Winds were mainly from the east at ten mph or less but higher
near showers and thunderstorms. Also finally, low temperatures were
in the mid and upper 70s across the coastal areas and mid-60s in the
mountain areas.

Although the retrograding TUTT-low will linger across the Northeast
Caribbean, rain activity will diminish somewhat across the islands
during the morning hours. This decrease in rain activity and the
available moisture will give way to another hot day with a heat
index between 102 and 111 degrees Fahrenheit across most urban and
coastal sites in PR, Vieques, Culebra, and the US Virgin Islands.

Afternoon thunderstorms will develop due to the excessive heating,
local effects, and sea breeze variations. As a result, thunderstorms
producing frequent lightning, flooding rains, and strong gusty winds
are likely across the interior and western sections. Once again, the
San Juan stream may form downwind from El Yunque during the
afternoon, increasing the potential for urban flooding in the
metropolitan area.

Instability associated with the TUTT-low will remain across the
islands on Thursday, when a wind surge will bring a sharp increase
in moisture, resulting in squally weather, especially Early Thursday
morning and afternoon.

Friday's forecast is more challenging due to the indirect effects
associated with the Invest 94L. Some guidance (GFS) has the system
moving northeast of the USVI as a tropical cyclone, leaving the
islands on the subsidence side of it (meaning less rain activity for
PR/USVI). Another guidance (ECMWF) has the system moving as a low
pressure/trough near the islands by the weekend, bringing a wet and
unstable weather pattern. Regardless of which guidance is correct,
Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands residents should monitor the
NWS National Hurricane Center track and intensity forecast as it
approaches the islands.

LONG TERM...Saturday through Wednesday...

Models continue to be consistent from cycle to cycle that Invest 94L
will move northeast of the area by this weekend. However, forecast
intensity and closeness to the local islands remain uncertain. GFS
persists on the strongest tropical cyclone development and farthest
away from the local area with ECMWF insisting on an open wave
passing through the islands during the weekend, with other models
falling in between.

The TUTT-low aloft will linger on Saturday while a polar trough will
start to approach from the northwest on Sunday. This could provide
enough wind shear to inhibit further development if Invest 94L moves
closer to the northeastern Caribbean. However, these types of
scenarios are difficult to forecast. It seems that there is a low
probability of a direct impact from this system. However, if Invest
94L does come close, the primary concern for Puerto Rico and the US
Virgin Islands is the potential for heavy rainfall. Depending on the
track and development of Invest 94L, the region could see an
increased risk of widespread showers and thunderstorms. This raises
concerns for flooding and landslides, particularly in vulnerable
areas or steep terrain. In addition to the precipitation threat,
strong wind gusts are possible in the vicinity of the strongest
thunderstorms. These gusty winds can lead to localized damage and
downed trees. We will continue to closely monitor the progress of
Invest 94L and provide updates as more information becomes
available.

For the rest of the forecast period, a notable change in the weather
pattern is anticipated as a polar trough and a frontal boundary edge
closer to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. First and foremost,
slightly cooler temperatures, more in line with October weather, can
be expected by next week. As the polar trough intensifies while low-
level moisture convergence increases, we could expect an increase in
unstable weather conditions as the week advances. This could lead to
an increase in shower and thunderstorm activity across the islands.
This particular weather pattern is known to produce strong
thunderstorms capable of producing frequent lightning, gusty winds,
and waterspouts in its vicinity.

SHRA/isolated TSRA will develop again across PR's interior/W and
downwind from El Yunque, resulting in MVFR conditions between 18/17-
23z at JBQ and possibly at JSJ. The vicinity of IST/ISX may observe
TSRA/SHRA as they develop downwind from the islands during the
afternoon. Expect calm to light and VRB winds through 18/13z,
returning from the E/ESE at 5-10 kt, but locally higher due to sea
breeze variations after 18/13z.

conditions should remain favorable for small craft, with seas within

today. Expect additional north-facing beaches with moderate risk
in the coming days. Expect deteriorating seas this weekend as

SEBASTIAN...UTUADO AND ADJUNTAS MUNICIPALITIES THROUGH 330 PM AST...

At 258 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Lares, moving west at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

SEBASTIAN...UTUADO Y ADJUNTAS HASTA LAS 330 PM AST...

A las 258 PM AST, el radar Doppler detect una tronada fuerte sobre
Lares, movindose hacia el oeste a 15 mph.

PELIGRO...Rfagas de viento de hasta 40 mph y granizo pequeo.

FUENTE...Indicado por radar.

IMPACTO...Los vientos rfagas podran derribar las ramas de los
rboles y soplar alrededor de objetos no asegurados. El dao menor
de granizo a la vegetacin es posible.

MEDIDAS DE PRECAUCIN/PREPARACIN...

Si est al aire libre, considere buscar refugio dentro de un
edificio.

Rayos frecuentes de nubes a suelo estn ocurriendo con esta
tormenta. Los rayos pueden golpear a 10 millas de una tormenta
