Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...
East Fork White River near Bedford.
.Minor flooding is ongoing along the Wabash, White, and East Fork
White rivers and several tributaries across central and southern
Indiana due to 1.5 to 3 inches of rainfall that fell Friday March
3rd.
Flooding is ongoing along the full length of the Wabash River with
the crest near Covington. Much of the White River is in flood from
Spencer to Hazleton, with the crest near Elliston. Flooding along
the East Fork White River is expected from Seymour to Williams, with
the crest near Seymour.
Flooding along many smaller tributaries that has not already ended
will end by Tuesday. Flooding will continue through the middle to
end of the week along portions of the Wabash, White and East Fork
White, and into next week on lower portions of these rivers.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

.Minor flooding is ongoing along the White, East Fork White, and
Wabash Rivers across central and southern Indiana due to 1.5 to 3
inches of rainfall that fell Friday March 3rd.
Flooding is ongoing along the lower White River from Spencer to
Hazleton, with the crest near Newberry.
Flooding along the East Fork White River extends from Seymour to
Williams, with the crest just upstream of Rivervale.
Flooding along the Wabash River extends from Lafayette to Mount
Carmel and beyond, with the crest near Clinton.
Flooding will end at Spencer and Seymour within the next day, while
several sites are expected to remain in flood through the week.
Flooding along the lower reaches of the White and Wabash rivers is
expected to persist well into next week.

Issued at 927 AM EST Mon Mar 6 2023 Mild start to the morning with he warm front moving north of the region and S/SE flow across much of the forecast area. Mid and high clouds continued to drift across the Ohio Valley. 14Z temperatures ranged from the mid 40s to mid 50s. The forecast is in good shape for the rest of the day with minor adjustments to temps and pops for the morning update. Low pressure currently over northeast Missouri will track E/NE across northern Indiana today eventually pulling a cold front through the region late this afternoon into the early evening. Moisture remains limited which will largely limit precip development over the forecast area along and ahead of the front. But think there still is likely to be a few showers or scattered sprinkles later this afternoon focused over northern counties where weak isentropic lift will be a bit more pronounced. Most areas though will remain dry as the front passes through. Nudged temperatures up a few degrees as the combination of warm advection with gusty SW winds and a zone of compressional heating immediately ahead of the front should enable temps to rise easily even with the mid and high clouds. Highs into the lower 70s are possible south of I-70 with mid and upper 60s further north. Enjoy as this is likely to be the last day at these temps for a while. Zone and grid updates out. && .Short Term...(Today and tonight) Issued at 257 AM EST Mon Mar 6 2023 - Increasing clouds and warm today; Chance for late afternoon sprinkles. - Mostly cloudy and colder tonight. Surface analysis early this morning shows low pressure in place over KS with a warm front extending northeast into Iowa, northern IL and into MI. Water vapor shows a slight SW flow across the CONUS, flowing into weak ridging in place over the eastern Great Lakes and Ontario. A weak shortwave within this flow was found over MN/WI, pushing NE within the flow. Radar shows showers associated with this wave mainly north of Central Indiana and north of the warm front. GOES16 shows some mid and high cloud within the flow aloft over IL pushing toward Indiana. Southerly surface flow was in place ahead of the approaching low along with ongoing warm air advection. Today... Models show the SW flow aloft becoming more zonal through the day as the short wave trough passes through the Great Lakes. Meanwhile the surface low to the west is projected to push northeast along the warm front. This keeps much of the best forcing dynamics north of Central Indiana. This morning, the 295K GFS isentropic surface does show good up glide with specific humidities over 6 g/kg, however forecast soundings never really become deeply saturated as pwats remain near 0.70 inches. HRRR keeps the bulk of any precip this morning north of Central Indiana, along and north of the frontal boundary. Thus we will have a dry forecast this morning. As the day progresses the low to the west passes north and then east of Central Indiana and this allows the lingering frontal boundary to push southward toward Central Indiana late in the afternoon. Forecast soundings at that time show convective temperatures that can be reached and a thin layer of saturation within the lower levels. At that time, the HRRR suggests a few isolated scattered showers. Aloft best forcing will be long gone at that point, but a few sprinkles cannot be ruled out and will include a mention of this late this afternoon. Given much of the day within the warm sector amid southerly flow, warm temperatures with highs in the middle to upper 60s will be expected. Perhaps some low 70s south. Tonight... Tonight the cold front will make progress south across Central Indiana as surface flow becomes northerly. Strong high pressure over Central Canada is expected to build southward across the western Great Lakes and into the Ohio Valley. Forecast soundings show dry and subsidence in the column overnight, but a lower level of trapped stratocu is indicated by a saturated layer near the surface beneath an inversion aloft amid cold air advection. Any lingering sprinkles should be lost by 00Z as daytime heating is lost. Thus will keep a cloudy sky tonight with dry weather expected. Given the ongoing cold air advection yet clouds lows in the mid 30s appear on the mark. && .Long Term...(Tuesday through Sunday) Issued at 257 AM EST Mon Mar 6 2023 Tuesday through Thursday.... Quiet conditions are expected to persist early in the period with upper ridging building across the Ohio Valley and weak surface high pressure. This along with cold air advection will result in a very dry surface layer as dewpoints should fall into the teens and low 20s. Guidance shows a few upper level disturbances moving through Wednesday and Thursday, but low-mid level dry air should limit any precipitation. The only impact expected from these weak disturbances is an increase in cloud cover. Precipitation chances begin to increase late Thursday as an approaching system advects moisture into the area. There is a low chance for rain Thursday afternoon, but low level dry air will likely delay onset of precipitation until the evening or overnight hours. Thursday night through Sunday... Quiet conditions come to an end overnight Thursday as an occluding surface low tracks across the region. A warm front extending from the low will lift north overnight and likely produce widespread light rain through Friday morning. Some precipitation may linger into the afternoon, but this is dependent on when the cold front moves through. Frozen precipitation is unlikely with this system as central Indiana will remain within the warm sector, but cannot rule out some light snow mixing in overnight Friday on the back side of the low. Marginal moisture return ahead of this system should limit rainfall with QPF amounts likely around a quarter of an inch for most locations. Cold air advection behind the low should lead to quiet weather conditions on Saturday. This may be short lived though as guidance suggests another disturbance will move through at the end of the period. Expect temperatures to be near normal values through much of the long term with highs generally in the mid 40s to low 50s. The warmest day will be Friday with temperatures reaching the mid 50s as warmer air advects into the area ahead of the surface low. && .Aviation...(12Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 547 AM EST Mon Mar 6 2023 Impacts: - VFR Conditions are expected much of today - MVFR Cigs arrive overnight Discussion: A warm front remains north of the terminals this morning.
