currents, piers, jetties, and other hazardous areas. It may

* IMPACTS...The lowest portions of Battleship Road and USS North
Carolina Road observe minor coastal flooding of about one foot
in depth. In downtown Wilmington, several blocks of Water
Street observe shallow flooding from one half to one foot in
depth. The low-lying areas along River Road and adjacent
residential roads, south of River Road Park, will begin to
flood. Route 133 at Little Mallory Creek may begin to flood.
Check with local officials for any road closures or impacts.

couple days as a front remains stalled just off the coast. High
pressure will build in from the north bringing drier and warmer
weather in this weekend and early next week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Strong surface high pressure over Quebec is ridging southward
along the Appalachians into Georgia. The result will be cooler
temperatures and cloudiness along the coast. An isolated shower
is possible this evening and again on Thursday over the coastal
counties.
Lows tonight will fall to around 60 west of Interstate 95 and
the mid-60s along the coast. Thursday's highs will be in the
middle to upper 70s.

.SHORT TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Not a whole lot of change going into the Short Term period with
sfc high pressure still ridging in from the north and a frontal
boundary positioned offshore. An upr-level trough will pivot
through the area, but without the forcing and moisture profiles
to produce widespread precip...low rain chances still limited to
coastal areas in association with the moist low-level flow under
an inversion aloft. Otherwise, mostly cloudy skies with temps
near to slightly below normal for late September...highs Friday
around 80 deg.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Dry weather will be the norm through the Long Term period, as
the local area will be under the influence of sfc high pressure
for several days. Aloft, a closed upr-level low slides offshore
to the north and is followed by weak, disorganized flow into
next week. Shower chances at times are very low and limited to
the coastal waters where the better moisture will reside. Temps
near seasonable norms...highs averaging in the lwr 80s with lows
in the upr 50s to mid 60s.

.AVIATION /01Z THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
Ceilings have lifted to VFR (around 3500 ft) across most of the
area. Look for ceilings to lower again tonight, first across
coastal SE NC (KILM) around midnight with area-wide low ceilings
slowly developing before dawn. Best chance for ceilings near
1000 ft will be at coastal terminals around daybreak. Conditions
expected to improve to VFR inland late Thursday morning/midday.
Low clouds will linger along the coast for majority of the TAF
period with a coastal trough maintaining low level moisture,
especially at KILM where guidance is hinting at flight
restrictions persisting into Friday. Northerly winds continue
through Thursday, with gusts to 15 kts Thursday afternoon.
Extended Outlook...MVFR will continue through Friday, especially
along the coast. Predominantly VFR expected Saturday through
Monday.

.MARINE...
Through Thursday...Strong surface high pressure over Quebec is
ridging southward along the Appalachians into Georgia. This
surface pressure setup will produce north-northeast winds of 20
to 25 knots over the coastal waters through noon Thursday before
falling slightly to 15 to 20 knots late Thursday. Seas are
expected to range from 3 to 5 feet nearshore and 4 to 6 feet 15
to 20 miles off the coast. The small craft advisory is expected
to last through noon Thursday.
Thursday Night Through Monday...Somewhat improving marine
conditions from Thursday into Thursday night as the pressure
gradient relaxes over local waters. Still could see some
occasional gusts up to 20-25 kt Thursday night, before gusts up
to 15-20 kt for Friday continue into the weekend and early next
week as the area remains under the influence of broad sfc high
pressure centered to the north. Seas steady at 2-4 ft over this
period, with some 5 footers possible at times over the weekend as
easterly swell slightly increases.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
Minor coastal flooding is expected through the weekend for both
the beaches of Southeast North Carolina and Northeast South
Carolina and along the Lower Cape Fear River from downtown and
downstream. Coastal flooding will occur with high tides each
