Fair weather conditions are expected to continue through Thursday
as a result of high pressure. Temperatures overnight will fall
into the upper 30s to low 40s with some mid-30s across far NE GA.

As high pressure slides off the east coast winds will swing back
to the SE and eventually SW. High temperatures are forecast to be
in the 70s areawide Thursday afternoon. Similar to today, minimum
RH values across North GA will fall into the low 20% range. Given
the lack of changing conditions we may need another Fire Danger
Statement for portions of North GA tomorrow.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday morning through next Tuesday)

Friday starts off the long term period as well as an active weather
patter through the middle of next week. To start off a deep mid
level trough centered over the plains is expected to deepen and move
eastward, while at the surface a low pressure system is expected to
push a cold front through our area Friday overnight into Saturday
morning. We are not under a risk from SPC at this time but that
could be coming, they currently have much of the central CONUS under
a Day 3 enhanced risk. When looking at the parameters for this
system, CAPE values are relatively low <= 500 J/kg, but shear values
are from 50-70 kt. As we know here in Georgia, these low CAPE/high
shear events are something to watch out for. The one thing that is
standing out that could limit the potential is how far north the low
pressure is expected to track (into Canada) by the time it gets to
our are. This could ultimately limit the forcing for the area.

Following the frontal system, there are a few short wave troughs
that are expected to push moisture into our through the middle of
next week every couple of days. Currently our QPF values are not
that high (max ~1.5 inches in N Georgia), but PWATs are expected to
stay above average as these waves move through which could
ultimately give Georgia more rainfall. This will become clearer in
the next couple of days. Finally, since it is spring, we usually get
almost weekly frontal systems and later next week is no exclusion.
With it still being pretty far out in the forecast, details are a
little scattered but it should come together more over the next few
days.

Temps are expected to stay mild with highs in the 70s-low 80s and
lows in the 40s-50s which is about 7-9 degrees above
climatological norms.

are expected to switch back over to the NW side at or shortly
after 20z where they will remain until 14-16z Thursday. At which
point winds will switch back to the SE. FEW to SCT high clouds
will persist this afternoon, otherwise, SKC.
