A heatwave of historical significance will continue today. Combined with humidity in place across the region, it will be difficult for folks to stay cool. Residents and visitors will need to take precautions to avoid heat-related illness. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for all of South Central Texas. Maximum heat indices ranging from 105 up to 120 degrees are possible with most air temperatures expected to peak at between 100 and 113 degrees. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through 9 PM Wednesday for all of South Central Texas. Heat indices up to 120 degrees are possible along with air temperatures between 99 and 112 degrees. Although temperatures will cool slightly on Thursday and Friday, high humidity and heat indices will continue and excessive Heat Warnings or at least Heat Advisories may need to be issued. Temperatures then warm back up by the weekend as this oppressive hot pattern is expected to continue into next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not anticipated.

northeastern Edwards and Real Counties through 615 PM CDT...
At 536 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15
miles south of Telegraph, or 21 miles east of Rocksprings, moving
southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Leakey, Tuff, Devil's Sinkhole State Natural Area and Prade Ranch.
