...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN LEVY COUNTY...
    
At 826 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Williston Highlands, or near Williston, moving
northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
  Williston Municipal Airport around 835 AM EDT.
  Williston around 845 AM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile
home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and
protect yourself from flying debris.

The forecast for the next several days will be shaped mainly by a
large upper level trough digging into the northern Gulf Coast
today, then cutting off and holding over the Gulf Friday before
being picked back up by another longwave trough over the weekend.
At the surface, this feature will support a weak surface trough
that will remain fairly stationary over the north central Gulf of
Mexico today through the start of the weekend, favoring southerly
low level flow over the Florida Peninsula. As a result, numerous
to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected each day
through the weekend, with above normal QPFs expected. Widespread
rain totals through the weekend are expected to run 2 to 3 inches
along the coast, and 1 to 2 inches over the interior, with higher
amounts generally to the north. However, with storms expected to
train onshore, it is possible that some locations will see
significantly higher rain totals over the next few days, leading
to areal and river flooding. As a result, a Flood Watch has been
issued for Levy and Citrus Counties for Friday and Saturday, but
it should be noted that this watch may need to be expanded to
more counties as the event unfolds. Otherwise, the increased rain
and cloud cover will suppress afternoon high temperatures
slightly.

During the first half of next week, the upper level trough will get
absorbed into a potent longwave trough swinging through the Midwest,
while broad ridging aloft builds over Florida. With ridging
overhead, temperatures will climb back up to slightly above normal.
However, a break from the rainy conditions may not come quite that
quickly, as the longwave trough will continue to drag a plume of low
level moisture across the Florida Peninsula, with PWAT values
forecast to remain around 2.0 to 2.25 inches resulting in
numerous showers and storms each day.

throughout the morning, with periods of flight category disruptions
possible as storms pass over individual terminals. More widespread
storms will develop over the Florida Peninsula through the afternoon
and early evening.

Weak high pressure over the waters this morning will give way as a
trough builds into the central Gulf of Mexico and holds through the
upcoming weekend. This trough will help increase atmospheric
moisture with numerous to widespread showers and storms expected
each day. Gradient winds will remain less than 15 knots, although
the widespread thunderstorms will produce locally higher winds and
hazardous boating conditions.

At 736 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Weeki Wachee, or near Spring Hill, moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Spring Hill, Brooksville, Weeki Wachee, Weeki Wachee Gardens, Pine
