flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Hurricane Ian is moving over western Cuba and about to emerge into
the Gulf of Mexico. Outer rainbands are bringing showers across
the southern zones this morning. Ian will continue to lift north
with rainbands continuing to spread northward over the area
through the day. Have updated the surge values across the southern
zones with the shift in the track at 5am. Forecast on track, with
impacts expected to start tonight. Continue to stay advised of
the latest forecasts for Ian and rush to completion any
preparedness activities.

The northern most outer bands of Hurricane Ian are pushing into
southwest Florida this morning and will continue to spread northward
over the next 24 hours. Areas of MVFR/IFR ceilings with rainshowers
will develop and spread north becoming more widespread by tonight.
Scattered heavier showers and thunderstorms will also be possible
during this afternoon and evening which could cause some IFR/LIFR
conditions. East winds at 5 to 10 knots this morning will gradually
increase from south to north to 10 to 15 knots with gusts to 20 this
afternoon, then further increasing 20 to 30 knots with gusts to
40 knots possible overnight.
