Hurricane Ian has continued to strengthen overnight and continues to
slowly move northward just off the coast of SW FL. The effects from
Ian will be felt over the next 24 hours at all terminals in west
central and southwest Florida. SHRA/TSRA will persist through the
period with areas of IFR/LIFR for low CIGs and VSBY. East winds
around 25 to 35 knots with gusts to 45 knots this morning will
gradually increase from south to north with sustained winds of 50 to
70 knots with gusts to 90 to 100 knots this evening as the storm
makes landfall.

Major Hurricane Ian remains the dominant weather feature for the
next couple days. Life-threatening storm surge, freshwater flooding,
winds, and tornadoes are all expected across portions of west
central and SWFL. For the latest information on the forecast for
Ian, please see the National Hurricane Center and the Hurricane
Local Statement.

After Ian clears the area, drier and more stable air is expected to
settle across the area, with a more easterly flow settling in across
the region. It may also end up feeling a touch more pleasant with
slightly cooler overnight lows and dewpoints in the upper 60s.
