Mesoscale Discussion 1069
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1056 AM CDT Tue Jun 07 2022

Areas affected...Portions of far eastern OK into the ArkLaTex

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 319...320...

Valid 071556Z - 071730Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 319, 320
continues.

SUMMARY...An isolated threat for strong to locally damaging winds
should continue this morning.

DISCUSSION...The earlier intense convection across southeastern OK
has recently weakened, as substantial convective inhibition has
likely acted to limit the intensity of updrafts. Recent VWPs from
KFWS show a weakening trend to a southwesterly low-level jet as
well. Still, diurnal heating ahead of the ongoing activity should
further erode remaining MLCIN, and MLCAPE is forecast to increase
into the 1500-2000 J/kg range over the next couple of hours. Some
uptick in convective intensity may occur as thunderstorms spread
into western/central AR late this morning into the early afternoon.
Isolated strong to locally damaging winds should continue to be the
primary threat given the mainly linear mode.
