This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop over the
mountains early this afternoon and spread off into portions of
the adjacent I-25 corridor after 3 PM. The main thunderstorm
risks will be lightning, and locally heavy rainfall which will be
capable of producing flash flooding on burn scars. Some small hail
and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with the isolated
stronger storms.

An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm will be possible across
Kiowa, Bent, Prowers and Baca counties late this afternoon and early
evening.  Hail to around 1 inch in diameter along with heavy
rainfall will be the primary storm risks.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Scattered to widespread thunderstorms are likely Sunday through
Wednesday, with the best coverage over the mountains. The primary
storm risks will be locally heavy rainfall, which could produce
flash flooding, especially on area burn scars. Lightning and small
hail will also be possible with the stronger storms.

Afternoon and evening thunderstorms will gradually become more
isolated to widely scattered Thursday and Friday, with the highest
coverage remaining over the higher terrain.

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of central Huerfano
County through 230 PM MDT...

At 206 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
southeastern Spring Burn Scar north of Highway 160, moving northeast
at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Huerfano
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
