.SYNOPSIS...
A weather system will produce widespread snow across the majority
of the Inland Northwest. More snow will be likely Friday night
into Saturday. Next week will feature very cold temperatures
across the Inland Northwest.

.DISCUSSION...

Evening update: A dissipating cold front has crossed the crest
and through Wenatchee. Light snow continues ahead of it with the tail
end of the snow shield just east of Moses Lake at 7:30 PM PST. The
snow will move out of Washington by 2-4 AM PST Friday as the cold
front exits Washington. Additional snow accumulations will be
Trace to 2 inches for Washington east of Moses Lake and 1-4 inches
for the Idaho Panhandle. /db

Tomorrow: Some pop and qpf mentions will remain tomorrow to
address any snow showers that may result in that incoming cold
conditionally unstable airmass, mainly over the higher terrain of
North Idaho. /Pelatti

Friday night through Sunday: The next system will move into the
region beginning Friday night, continuing to move east overnight.
The heaviest snow will fall over the morning on Saturday before
tapering off Saturday night. Temperatures in the valleys and lower
elevations will be hovering near freezing but precipitation is
expected to mainly fall as snow. A watch has been issued for the
leeside of the Cascades, Okanogan area down through Wenatchee and
all northern counties of Washington and Idaho Panhandle. Locations
north of I-90 will see the most snow with the Waterville Plateau and
Okanogan Valley receiving 6 to 10 inches of new snow. Spokane/CDA
area will see 3 to 6 inches of snow with the highest on the western
side of Spokane. North of Spokane into the Idaho Panhandle will
receive 4 to 8 inches of new snow. The main system will move out of
the area late Saturday with lingering light snow showers expected
during the day on Sunday. /KM

Monday through Thursday: A ridge will build along the coast as
the Low continues to move South and East. Any linger snow showers
will be over the SE Washington and Lower ID Panhandle and diminish
by midday. The main concern for next week is the return of
bitterly cold conditions. The ridge will allow dry, cold Arctic
air to filter into the region. The dry air will help moderate fog
development. The range of temperatures will remain fairly stable.
Highs will be in the low 20s. Lows will be in the teens and single
digits. The stable, bitterly cold environment could lead to
possible air stagnation concerns by the end of the week. /JDC

06Z TAFS: A band of snow will continue to migrate over eastern WA
and ID tonight, decreasing from the west toward 08-10Z. This will
continue to provide snow in places like GEG/SFF/COE/PUW with
smaller chances near LWS. Some chances may linger a bit longer
near COE/LWS into the morning and additional snow showers may
pop-up Friday afternoon near COE. Expect IFR/lcl MVFR conditions
tonight over GEG/SFF/COE with MVFR/VFR toward PUW/LWS. MWH/EAT
will see MVFR/VFR conditions, with the next chance of snow moving
in toward 00-02Z Saturday (late Friday afternoon/evening) with the
next system. That precipitation will start to approach the
remaining TAF sites toward the end of this TAF period, going into
