.SYNOPSIS...Seasonably warm into Wednesday as high pressure peaks
over the region. Cooling trend starts Thursday as next trough
approaches with increasing onshore winds. Temperatures remain
below normal Friday and Saturday as a late season trough sets up
over far Northern California but the forecast remains dry.
Seasonal temperatures return by Sunday and Monday.

.DISCUSSION...as of 09:00 PM PDT Tuesday...
It was a sunny afternoon across the region with not a hint of
coastal stratus or fog in sight. Given the dry airmass humidity
values were low with breezy conditions during the afternoon. A
number of generally small fires occurred across the area given the
combination of these conditions with drying fuels.
Look for a quiet night across the area with clear skies and decent
radiational cooling in the lower elevations. A warming trend will
continue into tomorrow with inland high temperatures reaching the
80s and 90s. Enhanced fire weather concerns will persist with
northerly winds and low relative humidity values so do your part
to be "one less spark". Remember: one less spark, one less
wildfire.

.PREV DISCUSSION...as of 2:04 PM PDT Tuesday...Skies are completely
sunny across the district and most of NorCal this afternoon
including the offshore waters where some gale force winds continue
to blow. Clear skies are compliments of the continued strong
northerly gradient which has allowed temps to warm 4-8 degrees
inland over the last 24 hours. Temps currently running from the
upper 60s coast to lower 80s inland.
Pattern wont change too much for Weds, just expect some continued
modest warming as the offshore ridge peaks and 850 mb temps reach
20-21 celsius. Warmest inland areas should warm into the low 90s
for Weds afternoon.
The pattern will change quite abruptly late Weds night into
Thursday as an unseasonably strong late season trough approaches
the NorCal coast. Onshore winds will increase through the day
Thursday with some increase in high clouds associated with the
trough and daytime highs cooling back into the 70s.
Further cooling (though still really nice wx) will occur on Friday
and Saturday as the core of the upper low sets up over Cape
Mendocino. This will keep inland highs in the upper 60s and 70s.
The active pattern will keep typical summer stratus in-check.
Temps to rebound slightly Sunday into Monday as high pressure
rebuilds with the extended forecast shows no signs of any
prolonged or significant heat waves with another trough possible
later next week.

Widespread VFR under dry high pressure system overnight. Patchy
stratus possible along immediate North Bay/SF peninsula coastline
tomorrow morning per HREF (60% chance) but no impacts at terminal
expected. Breezy onshore winds persist tomorrow, locally gusty to
25 to 35 kt near coastal gaps such as KSFO tomorrow afternoon.
For Wednesday night, increasing marine stratus along the coast
with possible patchy figs at Bay Area terminals Thursday morning
(beyond current TAF package).
VICINITY OF KSFO... VFR. Breezy onshore winds persist. Gusty 25 to
35 kt during the afternoon to evening. Next chance of patchy cigs
is Wednesday night to Thursday morning, but more impactful cigs
