.NEAR TERM /Now Through Friday/...Cold front is currently sweeping
east across our forecast area, presently lined up more or less
along the I-65 corridor. A broken line of convection continues
along the front, with a few stronger storms still noted over
Conecuh county. These stronger storms will likely impact areas of
Butler, Crenshaw, and Covington counties through about 1 AM, after
which the front (and storms) will be east of our area except for
perhaps a portion of the western Florida panhandle. Some strong
to severe storms over the past few hours, producing gusty winds
and hail, have since weakened and the severe threat for the
remainder of the night appears to be low. Rains will have ended by
daybreak across the whole area, with drier and cooler air
beginning to filter into the region in the wake of the front.
Prior to the front moving through, lingering areas of fog (locally
dense) along the coast and over the near shore waters, and a
Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 3 AM. The fog already
appears to have dissipated in many areas, and will dissipate
completely shortly after 3 AM there after as the drier air and
northwesterly flow moves in.

On Thursday, skies will clear and cooler, drier and much calmer
conditions will be ushered in and then continue for the remainder
of the near term period. A large upper trough will continue over
the eastern half of the CONUS through Friday, as surface high
pressure ridges into our area from the west. This pattern will
maintain deep, cooler and drier west to northwest flow through the
near term period with mostly clear skies. Highs on Thursday are
expected to be in the upper 60s over the northwest counties and
low to mid 70s elsewhere. Lows Thursday night will be in the low
to mid 40s over all interior areas, upper 40s to mid 50s closer
to the coast. Along the immediate beaches some upper 50s should be
expected. On Friday, slightly cooler highs than on Thursday, ranging
from the mid 60s to lower 70s across the entire area. /12

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern Butler,
southern Crenshaw, northeastern Escambia, southeastern Conecuh and
northern Covington Counties through 1245 AM CDT...

At 1142 PM CDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a
strong thunderstorm 9 miles south of McKenzie, or 11 miles east of
Evergreen, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Andalusia, Opp, Brantley, McKenzie, River Falls, Red Level, Dozier,
