...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern Jackson
and southwestern Klamath Counties through 315 PM PDT...

At 251 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles north of Topsy Campground, or 14 miles west of Klamath Falls,
moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Heavy rainfall will reduce visibilities, result in slick
         roads, and cause localized ponding of water. Dangerous
         cloud to ground lightning is also expected.

Locations impacted include...
Hagelstein County Park, Spring Island Boat Launch, Eagle Ridge
Klamath County Park, Howard Bay Park, Keno, Klamath River Campground
and Topsy Campground.

This includes the following highways...
US 97 in Oregon between mile markers 260 and 267.
Lake of the Woods Highway 140 in Oregon between mile markers 49 and
65. Highway 66 in Oregon between mile markers 28 and 54.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

If on or near Upper Klamath Lake, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
