The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northern Mainland Monroe County in southwestern Florida...

* Until 515 PM EDT.
    
* At 443 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located near Everglades National Park, or 24 miles northeast of
  Northwest Cape Sable, moving north at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Everglades National Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile
home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and
protect yourself from flying debris.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHERN MAINLAND MONROE COUNTY WILL
EXPIRE AT 515 PM EDT...
        
The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A tornado warning 
will still remain in effect for Northern Mainland Monroe County near 
Loop Road until 530 PM EDT.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 AM EDT for southeastern
and southwestern Florida.
