wake of a passing cold front. Mostly clear skies are expected,
with winds generally out of the NW/NNW around 5 kt overnight
tonight, and 08 to 10 kt tomorrow.

UPDATE...
High pressure will continue to bring dry conditions to the region
tonight. Winds will slowly diminish as the evening progresses. The
main story for tonight will be the very cold temperatures as
strong cold air advection continues. Low temperatures will drop
into the mid to upper 20s over Glades County and into the mid to
upper 30s over the east coast metro areas. Even through the winds
will be gradually diminishing, they will remain high enough to
produce lower wind chills over the area. With the wind, the wind
chill values will drop down into the lower to mid 20s over Glades
and Hendry counties and into the upper 20s to near 30 across the
rest of South Florida. With the northwesterly flow remaining in
place on Sunday, cold air advection will continue and high
temperatures will generally range from the upper 50s over the Lake
Okeechobee region to the lower 60s over the east coast metro
areas.

DISCUSSION...

Short Term (Tonight and Sunday):

The strong low pressure over the Northern Atlantic waters will
continue to move northeast tonight allowing for the strong high
pressure over the Gulf of Mexico to move eastward and into the
Florida Peninsula on Sunday. This will keep an northwest wind flow
over South Florida through Sunday bringing in the very dry and cold
weather to the region.

The latest short range models have trended downward for tonight over
South Florida with lows around 30 around Lake Okeechobee to the
lower to mid 30s over rest of the Interior areas and mid to upper
30s over the east coast metro areas. The only exceptions to this is
over metro areas of Collier and Palm Beach Counties where the lows
are now forecast to get close to freezing, and into the mid 20s over
Glades County. Therefore, a freeze watch has issued for metro areas
of Palm Beach and Collier Counties for tonight with rest of the
northern interior areas remaining in a freeze warning. Glades County
will also remain in a Hard Freeze Warning for tonight.

The Redlands could get close to freezing right around sunrise on
Sunday if the winds are a little less than forecasted at this time.
So will continue to monitor the latest short ranges models to see if
a short fuse freeze warning may be needed for this area.

The Northwest winds should slowly decreasing tonight into Sunday as
the pressure gradient relaxes. However, the winds tonight will still
be around 5 mph over the interior areas to 5 to 10 mph over the
metro areas. This will allow for the wind chill readings to get down
to lower to mid 20s over the northern interior areas with even
Inland Collier County getting down into the mid 20s. Rest of South
Florida will see wind chill readings in the upper 20s to near 30.
Therefore, the Wind Chill Warning has been extended into Inland
Collier County for tonight while remaining up over rest of the
northern interior areas. The Wind Chill Advisory will also remain up
for the east and west coast metro areas of South Florida including
Inland Miami-Dade, Mainland Monroe, and Southern Miami-Dade Counties.

The Wind Advisory will also remain up through rest of this afternoon
for the metro areas due to the wind gusts getting up to around 35
mph.

The very dry air and colder air will remain over South Florida on
Sunday. Highs on Sunday will only get up into the lower to mid 60s,
except mid to upper 50s around Lake Okeechobee.

Long term (Sunday Night through Friday):

Models remain locked on keeping the area under the dominance of
massive cold air advection from the north to start the work week as
broad high pressure remains in place across the SE CONUS.

After coordination with surrounding WFOs and based on the suggested
min temps from latest guidance, a Freeze watch has been issued for
Glades and hendry counties Sunday night into Monday morning. For
how long could the freezing temps last is still uncertain, but
attm seems close enough to go ahead and put those counties in a
watch. Winds should relax significantly across the region on
Sunday night into Monday, with speeds down to less than 5 mph at
times, so radiational cooling will be basically as effective as
the previous night.

A warming trend starts on Monday afternoon as temperatures start
coming back to more seasonal values.  Winds will start veering to
the NE, but conditions should remain dry enough to limit chances of
rain through Tuesday.  High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday
should range from high 60s to mid 70s for the whole region. Low
temperatures Monday night could still be below normal, ranging from
mid 40s in the interior to low 60s in coastal areas. Lows on Tuesday
night will return near normal, reaching mid 50s in the interior and
high 60s in the metro areas.

Another upper level trough could start making its way south across
CONUS Wednesday through Friday, spawning a low pressure area over SE
CONUS on Thursday, but confidence of this solution or any impacts
remains low at this time.

MARINE...

The northerly winds over the Gulf and Atlantic waters will remain at
25 t0 30 knots with gusts up to 40 knots this afternoon before
decreasing to 20 to 25 knots with gusts getting up to 30 knots
tonight. The Lake Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay waters will slowly
decrease to 15 to 20 knots by this evening and continue to decrease
through the night.

The northern winds will slowly decrease on Sunday and by early next
week be from the northeast direction at 10 to 15 knots. The only
exception is over Lake Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay waters where
they will be 5 to 10 knots by early next week.

Atlantic seas of 9 to 11 feet this afternoon will slowly subside to
7 to 9 feet by Sunday. The Atlantic seas will continue to slowly
subside Sunday night and by early next week be at 5 feet or less.
The Gulf seas will also subside from 5 to 7 feet near-shore up to 10
feet offshore this afternoon to 4 feet or less by Sunday afternoon.

Therefore, an Gale Warning will remain in effect until this evening
for the Atlantic and Gulf waters with an SCA conditions for Lake
Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay. The Gale Warning will be replace by and
SCA conditons for tonight. The SCA will be replace with an SCEC for
Lake Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay waters for tonight.

BEACHES...

A High Risk of Rip Currents will continue for the beaches of Collier
County beaches through this afternoon due to the windy to very wind
northwest winds and a northwest swell of 2 to 3 feet. There will
also be a northeast swell 2 to 4 affecting the east coast beaches of
South Florida rest of this weekend into early next week from the low
pressure over the northern Atlantic waters. Therefore, a High Risk
of Rip Currents will remain in effect for the beaches of Palm Beach
County through rest of this weekend.

There will also be breakers of 3 to 6 feet this afternoon for the
beaches of Collier County. These breakers should decrease tonight,
as the winds slowly decrease. Therefore, a High Surf Advisory
remains in effect through early this evening for beaches of Collier
County.

FIRE WEATHER...

The very dry air will has allowed for the relative humidity to fall
into the upper 20s over the northern areas to lower 30s over the
southern areas this afternoon. The 20 foot winds are still in the 15
to 20 mph over the eastern areas of South Florida and around 15 mph
over the western areas of South Florida. The ERC's are also in the
27 to 29 range over the eastern areas and in the lower to mid 20s
over the western areas this afternoon. Therefore, the Red Flag
Warning is still in effect for the eastern areas of South Florida
through early this evening.

On sunday, the relative humidity will crash into the upper teens to
mid 20s over the over most areas except the east coast metro areas
where they will in the lower to mid 30s. However, the 20 foot winds
will remain below 15 mph over South Florida on Sunday. Therefore, NO
fire weather headlines will be needed for Sunday over South Florida.

This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

Rip Currents: There is a high risk of rip currents along the Palm
Beaches as well as the Collier County Beaches.

Marine: Hazardous marine conditions will continue, with northwesterly
winds around 20 knots and wave heights between 9 and 11 feet over the
Atlantic waters. Wave heights will range from 7 to 9 feet over the
Gulf waters as they slowly continue to diminish as the night
progresses.

Temperatures: Very cold temperatures will occur tonight with low
temperatures dropping below freezing across the interior where
Freeze and Hard Freeze warnings are in effect. Wind chill values will
drop into the 20s and low 30s across South Florida.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

Cold temperatures again Sunday night with frost development possible.

Hazardous marine conditions will continue through the weekend.
Enhanced swell and breezy conditions will likely result in an
elevated risk for rip currents across all beaches for the rest of
the weekend into early next week.

Relative humidity values will drop below 35% Sunday, and possibly
Monday across portions of the interior which may lead to enhanced
fire weather conditions. However, critical wind thresholds are not
expected to be met during this time frame.
