.Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall along the Rio Grande and Rio 
Conchos have brought both rivers into minor flood in places.  Rivers 
are forecast to crest overnight, and slowly recede Saturday.  
Additional rainfall could exacerbate conditions.

For the Rio Grande...including Presidio International Bridge, 
Presidio 5SE...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

  County.

  Rio Grande below Presidio 5SE affecting Presidio County.

.Thunderstorms have produced very heavy rainfall over the past few 
days in Mexico over the Rio Conchos basin.  As a result, very high 
flows are coming out of the Rio Conchos into the Rio Grande at 
Presidio.  The flood wave is expected to crest at Presidio today, 
and move downstream through Big Bend National Park Sunday.  
Additional rainfall over the next few days could prolong the 
flooding.

For the Rio Grande...including Presidio International Bridge, 
Presidio 5SE, Castolon, Johnson Ranch, Boquillas...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

The cold front which was responsible for bringing much needed
rainfall to the Permian Basin last night is now pushing south of the
Pecos River. Decaying showers over the TX South Plains assocd with a
shrtwv trough has reached the N CWA border, but will continue to
weaken over the next hour or so as indicated by latest radar trends.
Post frontal temperatures are in the upper 70s to lower 80s and are
only expected to reach the mid to upper 80s across much of the
Permian Basin and southeast New Mexico. Scattered showers and storms
are once again expected this afternoon and evening across the
Permian Basin and Trans Pecos, however latest CAMs have trended down
in coverage from previous runs. The main focus has also shifted a
bit further south along the front in the Pecos River valley, and we
will update PoPs accordingly. Additional showers and storms with
heavy rainfall will be possible over the Guadalupe and Davis
Mountains through this evening. These areas will see the greatest
risk for flash flooding. Late tonight into early Friday, a weak
disturbance in NW flow aloft will providing a focus for another
round of showers and storms across the Permian Basin. Overnight lows
are expected to be near or below normal, especially in locations
that receive rainfall.

Today's cold front will become more diffuse on Friday as sfc winds
veer around to the S-SE. A weak upper ridge will be situated over TX
with the remnant tropical low still stationed over N Chihuahua. The
best rain chances will shift further West on Friday afternoon in
closer proximity to the upper lvl low. However, scattered showers
and storms will again be possible across much of the area due the
presence of remnant outflow boundaries left over from overnight
convection. Due to ample low lvl moisture and cloud cover, highs on
Friday will top out below normal, mainly in the upper 80s w/a few
lower 90s across the far E CWA. The cooler temperatures and rain
chances will continue into Friday night. PoPs will actually increase
into early Saturday across the western zones as a developing trough
over NM brings additional moisture and lift into the region.

Upper pattern Saturday will have the sub tropical ridge extending
westward from the Atlantic across TX with a strong low over MN/IA
and another trough extending from WA to UT.  A trough pushes south
across the Panhandle Sunday as the ridge gets squished southward,
then the ridge slides over to the western states Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures will be below normal in the upper 80s to lower 90s. A
front Saturday night will move down into the area and hang up over
the nrn CWA Sunday before pushing through the rest of the area
Monday. Will keep a cool E wind Tuesday behind the front that
continues Wednesday into Thursday.  Saturday will be the warmest day
in the long term with highs in the 90s across the east but next week
looks unusually cool with highs in the 80s nearly areawide Monday
through Thursday.

Rain chances look very promising and will continue through the
weekend into next week. Sunday and Monday has the best chance of
rain as storms develop on the stationary frontal boundary.  MAF 12z
sounding had a pw of 1.54 inches so will have the potential for
locally heavy rain especially if get training along the front. Had
Flash Flood Watches early in the week and may have them again as
early as this Saturday.

MVFR ceilings will continue to scatter out to VFR early this
afternoon. A cu field will develop across the region w/bases
around 5-6kft. By late this afternoon and early evening, isold
to widely scattered convection will be possible across the
Permian Basin and Trans Pecos and may impact some area terminals.
Uncertainty in timing and location will preclude mention attm.
Winds should remain largely out of the ENE through the period
as a weak frontal boundary continues to advance swd.

southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

There is a chance of thunderstorms tonight especially from
Southeast New Mexico across the Southern Permian Basin, southward
over the the Davis Mountains and across the Marfa Plateau. The main
concern with these storms will be locally heavy rain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Thunderstorms are likely each day and may be accompanied by heavy
rainfall which could result in flash flooding.
