This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and
north central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

An Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory remains in effect
until 8 pm CDT. Dangerous heat index values of 100 to 109 degrees
are forecast across much of the area.

Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected
across portions of southwest Nebraska into this evening. Breezy
west to southwest winds will combine with very warm and dry
conditions and lead to increased fire weather concerns.
Additionally, dry lightning will be possible across southwest
Nebraska in any thunderstorm activity this evening.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this evening and
tonight. The primary hazards are wind damage, hail, and locally
heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

Heat wave conditions are expected again late this week and into
the weekend which may cause heat indices to rise to near or above
100 degrees.
