East Fork White River, White River, Driftwood River.
.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers and their tributaries. River stages
are rising again due to previous rainfall over the weekend. Minor
flooding is largely expected, which primarily impacts river roads,
parks, and agricultural land. The crest on the Wabash River is
between Lafayette and Covington. The crest on the White River is
near Spencer. The crest on the East Fork White River is between
Seymour and Rivervale. New precipitation amounts through the weekend
will not impact current flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

River is near Rivervale. The crest of the White River is near

.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers due to rainfall last weekend. Minor
flooding is occurring, which primarily impacts river roads, parks,
and agricultural land. The crest of the East Fork White River is
nearing Williams. The crest of the White River is at Edwardsport.
The crest of the Wabash River is nearing Riverton. Flooding will
gradually end during the coming week at many sites, but may last
into early next weekend along the far lower reaches of the Wabash
and White Rivers.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

East Fork White River at Williams.
East Fork White River near Bedford.
East Fork White River near Rivervale.
.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers due to rainfall last weekend. Minor
flooding is occurring, which primarily impacts river roads, parks,
and agricultural land. The crest of the East Fork White River is
nearing Shoals. The crest of the White River is nearing Petersburg.
The crest of the Wabash River is nearing Riverton. Flooding will
gradually end during the coming week at many sites, but may last
into early next weekend along the far lower reaches of the Wabash
and White Rivers.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

in Indiana...Illinois...
East Fork White River at Williams, near Bedford, and near
Rivervale.
White River at Edwardsport, Hazleton, and Petersburg.
Wabash River at Terre Haute, Mount Carmel, Vincennes, Riverton,
Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, and Montezuma.
.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers due to rainfall last weekend. Minor
flooding is occurring, which primarily impacts river roads, parks,
and agricultural land. The crest of the East Fork White River is
slightly past Shoals. The crest of the White River is nearing
Petersburg. The crest of the Wabash River is slightly past
Vincennes. Flooding will gradually end this week, with the last of
the flooding forecast to end Saturday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Much of the short term will remain quiet with a trend towards clouds and developing light snow over parts of the area late Thursday night in advance of the Friday system which will offer a brief but friendly reminder that winter is not quite done with the Hoosier state yet. Low level northwest flow had developed with the high pressure expanding into the region from the upper Midwest. The core of the high will remain to our north...shifting into the Great Lakes by Thursday night as low pressure kicks out across the Texas panhandle anchoring a boundary that extends northeast into the Ohio Valley. This feature will gradually become a primary feature in developing light wintry precipitation over the northwest counties by Thursday night as an extended axis of overrunning moisture aligns from the southern Plains northeast into the region. Initially...the presence of subtle ridging noted through the boundary layer along with the presence of limited moisture will keep dry conditions over central Indiana into Thursday evening. Model soundings and RH progs hint at some developing stratocu tonight across the region with just periodic high clouds drifting through the region otherwise. Leading up to that late Thursday night into Friday, one or more bands of light-moderate precipitation are likely to develop along a zone of midlevel frontogenesis, with the west/southwest - east/northeast orientation of the band dictating that precipitation will likely last for several hours across much of the forecast area. An encroaching Arctic airmass north of the frontal zone should produce most if not all snow over the northwestern and perhaps even central portions of the area. Blend numbers appear far too warm for max temps on Friday and have been adjusted downward. This still results in some rain across central and southeastern portions of the area Friday afternoon, but suspect that this may continue to trend cooler. No significant warm nose is present, since the surface cyclone does not fully develop until it has passed us to the east, so icing is not a significant concern. While rates may not be particularly heavy at any one time, the period of precipitation and some potential for mesoscale banding due to the aforementioned frontogenetic forcing suggest that QPF may be a bit heavier than NBM and the dearth of poleward moisture transport would suggest, and have thus slightly increased the liquid QPF numbers, resulting in total snow accumulations of 1-3 across the area. While the precipitation associated with the synoptic boundary will move out of the area by late Friday night, a strong fetch off Lake Michigan and very steep low level lapse rates over the northeastern half of the area suggest at least substantial flurry activity if not full fledged lake effect snow showers, which may add just slightly to snowfall totals in the northeast. Will carry chance pops into Saturday morning before going dry thereafter as ridging traverses the area. A very quick glancing blow of Arctic air will bring lows back down into the teens Friday night and Saturday night, with Saturday max temps likely staying below freezing.
