Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...
East Fork White River near Bedford.
.Recent significant rainfall has brought high water back to area
rivers. The East Fork White River at Bedford is expected to rise
above minor flood stage late Thursday night into early Friday
morning, cresting at about 1.5 feet above flood stage early in the
weekend. Flooding at Bedford will likely come to an end early next
week. Minor flooding primarily impacts local river roads, parks, and
agricultural land.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

backwater reached the tailwater of Lake Monroe as Salt Creek
stopped falling. The crest of the river followed 2 days later and
reached 27.6 feet at Bedford and caused Salt Creek to rise nearly
6 feet at the tailwater of Monroe Lake.

Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
East Fork White River from Columbus to Bedford.
.Minor flooding will continue or develop along portions of the
Driftwood, East Fork White, White, and Wabash Rivers for the next
several days. Flooding is occurring due to significant rainfall
which occurred last weekend. Minor flooding primarily impacts local
river roads, parks, and agricultural land. The high water situation
is likely to begin to improve along northern reaches of the main
stem rivers within the next few days, while flooding will last
longer further south.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive

Double Y Saddle Club area flooded. At least 6 inches of water
flowing over CR 950N to Club. Water is less than one foot away
from CR 330W just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR
500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to
residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is open
but ramp is totally flooded. Water close to one residence at
Shelby CR 1000S and CR 900W.

.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers and their tributaries. River stages
are rising again due to previous rainfall over the weekend. Minor
flooding is largely expected, which primarily impacts river roads,
parks, and agricultural land. The crest on the Wabash River is
between Lafayette and Covington. The crest on the White River is
near Spencer. The crest on the East Fork White River is between
Seymour and Rivervale. New precipitation amounts through the weekend
will not impact current flooding.

.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers due to rainfall last weekend. Minor
flooding is occurring, which primarily impacts river roads, parks,
and agricultural land. The crest of the East Fork White River is
slightly past Shoals. The crest of the White River is nearing
Petersburg. The crest of the Wabash River is slightly past
Vincennes. Flooding will gradually end this week, with the last of
the flooding forecast to end Saturday.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,

Hutsonville begin to flood. Agricultural flooding spreads to
higher land. Seep water is noticeable behind levees. Some
elevated river cottages are surrounded by water. Several county
or township roads east of Lincoln Heritage Trail between Palestine
and Hutsonville in Crawford County Illinois are impassable.

.Ongoing flooding will continue along portions of the East Fork
White, White, and Wabash Rivers due to rainfall last weekend. Minor
flooding is occurring, which primarily impacts river roads, parks,
and agricultural land. The East Fork White River has crested. The
crest of the White River is near Petersburg. The crest of the Wabash
River is approaching Mount Carmel. Flooding will gradually end this
week, with the last of the flooding forecast to end Saturday.

Issued at 951 AM EST Wed Mar 9 2022 Clouds over central Indiana are currently scattering out from west to east as an upper level short wave through quickly crosses the Mid-West this morning. Any scattered sprinkles/flurries seen over southeastern counties earlier this morning have departed into Ohio while dissipating. Overcast decks over far eastern counties will be replaced by SKC/FEW conditions by noon as slowly-arriving Canadian high pressure dries lower levels over the region. Winds will increase slightly into the afternoon as the surface warms to seasonable levels with highs in the upper 40s to near 50F...with generally light northwest breezes expected for most locations. && .Short Term...(Today through Thursday) Issued at 230 AM EST Wed Mar 9 2022 Early this morning, an upper short wave was approaching central Indiana from the west. An inverted surface trough extended from Alabama north into the Cincinnati area. Radar was showing echoes across the southern forecast area down into Kentucky, but surface observations show nothing reaching the ground north of the Ohio River. The upper trough will move through the area area this morning, and the surface trough will move quickly east. The near surface layer may moisten up a bit for the rest of the predawn hours, but by the time it does, better forcing will already be moving off to the east. Thus, will only have some low PoPs south during the pre-12Z period. At 12Z, will have some slight chance PoPs extreme southeast, then dry as the system exits. Clouds with the aforementioned system will diminish today, but as a weak cold front moves this afternoon, some increase in clouds will occur again. The front will have no support with it and limited moisture, so only clouds are expected. With some sunshine today, temperatures should be able to rebound into the 40s to around 50. The front will stall out in the vicinity through Thursday as upper flow is southwest. With only perhaps some weak upper energy moving through the southwest flow aloft, there won't be enough forcing to generate any precipitation. Will continue a dry forecast through the day Thursday. Skies will generally be partly cloudy. Lows tonight will be around 30, with highs on Thursday back into the 40s to around 50. && .Long Term...(Thursday night through Tuesday) Issued at 230 AM EST Wed Mar 9 2022 Highlights: * Snow chances increase Friday and continue through Friday night * Arctic airmass Saturday, highs remaining below freezing * Warmer Sunday through early next week As the end of the week approaches, a deep upper level trough will approach from the west, along with a strong zonal jet streak upstream. Also of note is a strengthening sub-tropical jet over the Gulf States. The OH Valley will be positioned within a coupled jet diffluent region, allowing for continued pressure depression. As this broad region of low pressure continues to fall near the surface, deformation and eventually confluence will develop a quasi- stationary boundary to the NW. This will be the primary focus for rain/snow Friday through Friday night. Most long range models are pinpointing on cyclogenesis over the MS valley Friday, helping progress the boundary to the SE throughout the day. The development of the surface low will hinder moisture return to the north along the boundary, of which should limit overall QPF. As the low progresses to the NE, greater moisture and upward motion should however increase QPF in far SE portions of central Indiana. Have increased PoPs slightly given a far too conservative blend. This is mostly likely due to a inclusion of high pressure to the east, but this should erode as the coupled jet provides strong diffluence. Highest snow totals are likely to be towards the SE as higher QPF coincides with falling surface temperatures overnight. Without strong WAA creating upglide and a warm nose aloft, the transition of rain to snow Friday along the boundary should be rather uniform, and therefor minimal concern with ice accretion. Current thoughts are for generally 1 inch of snow for most of central IN, with slightly higher amounts to the SE. Following frontal passage Friday night, temperatures will drop dramatically. The deep cold air within the upper level trough axis will center over the OH Valley saturday, leading to 1000-500mb thickness values near 5100m; well below seasonal averages. This in combination with continued CAA throughout the day should lead to cold conditions Saturday. Blended output is trending in the right direction, leading to only minor changes to the high temperatures forecast for Saturday. One concern with dropping temperatures too low is the presence of an increasing spring sun angle, so have kept closer to the blend for now. The cold air should be short lived, as SW flow quickly returns for Sunday, along with a 20+ degree bump by Sunday afternoon. Highs by early next week could be back in the upper 50s. A low is currently progged to pass to the north Monday, providing rain chances. However, models are far too inconsistent for any confidence in rain for early next week. && .Aviation...(12Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 557 AM EST Wed Mar 9 2022 IMPACTS: * NW winds at 10kt or less will become NE later tonight. DISCUSSION: VFR conditions are expected through the period. Mid cloud will continue this morning until an upper trough exits to the east.
