.DISCUSSION...

Atmospheric conditions are very similar to yesterday in preparing
for another round of severe thunderstorms, set to move through NE
Montana later this afternoon and evening. SPC has actually
upgraded part of the slight risk area to enhanced risk for
increased confidence of a hail and wind threat. With our radar out
of commission due to a lightning strike last night, we will need
to rely on neighboring office's radars and satellite and lightning
data to issue any warnings tonight. Awareness and engagement with
social media is good.

The cold front on the backside of this slowly changing weather
pattern will finally move through our area later on Sunday with a
few lingering leftover messy showers and isolated non-severe
thunderstorms.

The dry air a cooler temperatures will be welcome relief late
Sunday through Tuesday.

Wednesday and beyond, a strong ridge of high pressure will build
into our region and push high temperatures in the triple digits
for many locations.

Expected Flight Category: VFR today and MVFR-IFR tonight.

Discussion: Afternoon cumulus clouds will build into thunderstorms
this evening through overnight tonight. Some of the stronger
storms will contain large hail, heavy rain, and gusty winds and
frequent lightning.

Winds: Variable winds 5-15 knots today becoming north 5-15 knots
tonight. Strong and erratic winds are expected in and near
thunderstorms.
