Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue through tonight. Some storms could be strong, producing gusty winds and frequent lightning. There will be some potential for an isolated severe thunderstorm, with the primary hazard being damaging wind gusts. The airmass remains very tropical-like, and storms will be very efficient rainfall producers. Localized flash flooding will also be a possibility. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday... Scattered thunderstorms will be possible each afternoon and evening throughout the forecast area this week. Some storms could become strong to severe with damaging winds, locally heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to weather.gov/atlanta.

At 840 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Ringgold, moving
southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects.
