* WHEN...Until Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 27 feet, Significant flooding expands into the 
  woodlands and agricutural areas upstream and downstream from the 
  gage on U.S. Highway 80. The flood waters will be around 4 feet 
  deep on Rex Miller Road and Old River Lane. Several homes on these 
  roads will be under two feet of water. Also a few homes on River 
  Ridge Road will be flooded with a foot of water. Portions of the 
  Riverview Park Golf Course will be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:45 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 26.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:45 AM EDT Sunday was 26.1 feet.

.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Sunday Night/...

Widespread clouds and a few isolated showers (even some brief
sleet/graupel) prevailed through the first half of the day
courtesy of a shortwave rounding the base of the deep trough
situated over the eastern U.S. This shortwave is now exiting
eastward with clouds breaking across much of the area. Skies will
continue to clear thorough the evening, and clear skies can be
expected overnight.

With skies clearing and the surface high settling over the
Southeast, temperatures will again drop well below normal overnight.
Low temperatures Sunday morning will likely dip a few degrees colder
than this morning as more persistent cloud cover this morning held
temperatures up a bit higher than forecast. A Freeze Warning will be
in effect for counties in the northeast Georgia mountains Sunday
morning where subfreezing temperatures are more likely. Elsewhere,
for the remainder of north Georgia and portions of central Georgia,
a Frost Advisory will be in effect, generally where forecast
temperatures reach 33-36 degrees.

On Sunday, a rapid rebound in temperatures will occur as
southwesterly flow returns around the backside of the surface high
and upper ridging begins to build eastward. Temperatures will reach
well into the 70s for most under sunny skies. Additionally, with
minimum RH values dropping to critical thresholds and continued
dry fuel moistures, a Fire Danger Statement likely will be needed
for at least some portions of the area.

.LONG TERM /Monday through Saturday/...

Zonal flow early the week should turn more southwesterly by early
Wednesday as  southern stream shortwave energy moves across the CWA.
The flow will turn more zonal again for the remainder of the week
into the weekend. Several fast moving west to east shortwaves will
move east in the flow through the remainder of the period.

High pressure will be situated across the western Atlantic on
Monday. The high will shift slightly eastward through Tuesday,
allowing for moisture return from the GOMEX. A weak front may remain
just north of the CWA late Monday into Tuesday, but the deepest
moisture should remain west of the CWA until a frontal boundary
crosses the Mississippi River on Wednesday. The front should move
through the CWA on Friday, bringing a chance for thunderstorms. A
secondary front may impact the CWA late in the weekend.

High temperatures Tuesday into Wednesday of next week look to be
about 5 to 10 degrees above normal. Overnight temps 10 to 20 degrees
above normal will be likely.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...

Temperatures are expected to be near or below freezing for
portions of northeast Georgia tonight. In addition, areas of
frost are possible for the remainder of north and north central
Georgia tonight. These cold temperatures have the potential to
damage sensitive vegetation if left uncovered.

A Fire Danger statement has been issued for parts of central and
southern Georgia due to strong winds combined with drying of finer
fuels. Erratic fire behavior may be observed with ongoing burns.

The Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory will continue through 10 AM
Sunday.

Dangerous fire weather conditions are possible again Sunday
